Hi Deana,
We were at your New Years Eve Ball with KIXI in Seattle, WA, and
THANK YOU for such a wonderfully entertaining evening. You sing
so beautifully and your demeanor on stage is just like your fathers.
You made us all feel so comfortable and at ease. We were surprised
to see what a sense of humor you have. You were delightful. It
is a night my wife, friends and I will never forget. Thank you.
I heard that you will be doing another concert here in February,
possibly on Valentines Day. Is that true? And if so please tell
us where to purchase tickets as soon as possible. We are very excited
to see you perform in concert again and would like to get good
seats.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Ron & Diane
Hi Ron & Diane,
We had a wonderful time visiting all our friends in Seattle
and at KIXI. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the show. And
yes we are thinking of returning on February 14 for a Valentines
Day Concert. All information will be posted on my web site
at deanamartin.com and simply click on “Tours & Events”.
When the engagement is signed, it will be posted there. Hope
to see you there.
Deana
Hi Deana,
My girl friends and I attended your concert in Branson and we
loved every minute of it. Great songs and a great show. We all
agree, that you are as beautiful as you dad was handsome. You might
remember us as the ladies from Chicago and we would like to thank
you for taking the photos with us. I promise we will never forget
it. When will you be performing in Chicago again? We will be first
in line. Please let us know.
Your fans from the Windy City,
Diane, Tina, Cindy, Kris and Uno.
Hi Deana,
I started listening to your show in the car while driving to work
and I absolutely love it!! You sound like such a doll!! I enjoy
your stories and the music that entertains me so much. I just bought
a copy of your CD for myself and one for my boyfriend!! It is terrific!
Thank you for the sweet memories and for making my time before
work so pleasant! God bless.
Donna C.
Hello Deana,
I just saw you on, “Entertainment Tonight” and you
were so poised and beautiful, just like your wonderful Papa. Will
you be performing in San Francisco? We have lots of friends that
would like to see your show. “Memories Are Made Of This” is
my absolute favorite biography. But who will you get to play your
Dad? We have lots of good-looking Italians here. You can see for
yourself when you do a concert here, so make it soon. Please. There
are lots of us here looking forward to seeing you. So hurry up
and make plans to come so we can see your show soon. We love you.
Sincerely,
Danny, Juli, Pauline and Joey.
Hi Deana,
Just wondering why you do not play more of your own CDs on the
radio, I like John think you have a beautiful voice. I listen to
you every morning between 4am and 6am waiting to hear you sing,
or just talk to John and to us out in radio land. Hope to hear
more of you.
Isaac Acevedo
Patterson, CA
Hello Deana,
I love your radio show and listen to it every day. My question
is, your dad made a movie in which he was an airline pilot and
had an apartment I believe in France. He met a girl that
was from Beta Lure. I remember a song “The Moon of Beta Lure” or
something like that. What was the name of the movie and is
it on tape?
Nancy Snyder
Hi Nancy,
The movie you are referring to is called “Airport” starring
Dean Martin, Jacqueline Bisset, and Burt Lancaster. Yes, it
is available on VHS, and on DVD in video stores everywhere.
It’s one of my favorites.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I was one of the fortunate few young women who can proudly say
worked with your father. I was one of the Ding-a-ling Sisters during
the 1972 season. I just wanted to take this opportunity tell you
how much I appreciated not only your Dad's talent but his kindness
and sense of humor. The first time I saw him he walked into orchestra
rehearsal looking handsome (of course) but he had brought along
a little girl in ponytails and glasses. She could not have been
more than 3 or 4yrs old. There he was the movie star with this
little girl gripping his hand. He was so sweet to her. She obviously
adored him. I was only 18 at the time, extremely nervous, living
away from home for the first time and I knew in that moment everything
was going to be fine. It was an honor to work with your Dad. I
think of him fondly, and say a little prayer every Christmas. I'm
sure you miss him very much. My very best to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Taffy Jones
DANVILLE, CA
Dear Deana,
The "Oldies but Goodies" station I have been listening
to in Palatka, FL recently switched to the "Music Of Your
Life" format, which I am enjoying so much. I spent 10 years
in radio - 1956-66 before switching to newspaper and I so enjoyed
playing records of the great artists of the time including your
dad, and of course Frank Sinatra. What I find so interesting are
the bits of information about the records and performers. And,
your CD is excellent. I just listened to samples. I especially
enjoy your duet with Jerry Lewis. “Time After Time” is
one of my favorites. I wish you continued success and I will continue
to enjoy the wonderful music.
Regards,
Fred Whitley
Hello Deana,
I heard you say on the radio the other day that there was someone
whose 14-year-old daughter was a Dean Martin fan. Well, we sure
have that beat here. My 5 almost 6-year-old granddaughters listen
to Dean Martin music all the time. They have one of his CD's in
the car and she would rather listen to "Dean" than watch
a DVD. The other day she was with me at a store and spied a Dean
CD and had to have it for the car. She also said she was going
to have Dean sing at her wedding. We haven't the heart to tell
her. We love your radio program, hope it never stops. Thanks for
all the private bits you give us now and then. And, I agree, your
dad wins hands down as the better singer over Frank. Can't wait
to give her Dean's daughter's CD.
Thanks,
Lynette
Hi Deana & John,
I just want to send a hello and tell you how much I enjoy hearing
you on my little bedside radio each night. I remember all the music
and performers and I still love it, even if I’m ninety years
old, we called those performers “pop stars”
Have a nice holiday season, and keep up the good music; you’ll
never know how much I enjoy it
Sincerely,
Una Newton
Armory, MS
Hello Deana,
I recently discovered you on “Music Of Your Life”. I
can't explain the heart-warming feelings I had when I first heard
you speak of your father. I was 17-26 during the Dean Martin TV
years. I most enjoyed the piano scenes with Ken Lane. It would
crack me up every time. When I first heard you on the radio and
realized you were Dean Martin's daughter my mind and heart raced
back to those wonderful TV days. Such laughter and peace your father
brought in a time that was not filled with peace. Hearing your
voice and knowing that you are in the industry he loved, brought
such a feeling to me that it is very hard to explain. Even though
that wonderful time with your father was gone, there you were on
the radio and then I knew that he was not gone, because the memories
are still with me. Thank you for keeping his memory alive. You
through your voice touched my heart in a way that I cannot explain,
but it is a good thing.
Tom
Hi Deana,
I really enjoyed your book and also when you’re on the radio.
Our local station is WMBG 740AM Williamsburg, VA. Since you come
on earlier, I only get to hear you and John for a few minutes.
I like John and his voice. Will you return to the 8 to 10
in our area? I also loved your dad and always watch his show. Is
there any chance any of them will be available on DVD? I sure hope
so. Take care and keep up the great work you do as it's enjoyed
so much.
A big fan,
Janet Higgs
Toano, VA
Hi Deana,
Hello again! Thank you so much for the beautiful picture of you
I received yesterday. What a wonderful surprise!! I am looking
forward so much to hearing you read my letter this Thursday morning
on your show. I’ll be listening with my tape recorder running.
I can't wait to meet you in June. Thanks again Deana. Take care.
Peace,
Tony Rinaldi
Hi Tony,
I look forward to seeing you at the Dean Martin Festival
in June.
Deana
Dear Deana,
In the next few months are you having any live performances. If
so could you list where, date and time.
Thanks,
Judy
Hi Judy,
All concert dates are posted on my web site www.deanamartin.com
at “Tours and Events”. I look forward to seeing
you there.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Just wanted to tell you that you have been a part of my life since
the day I was born in 1970. My mom had just split up with my dad
and was alone when she had me. She had planned on naming me Jennifer
but changed her mind while watching a TV program your dad was on
and he was talking about you. Right then and there my mom knew
what my name should be and here I am 37 years later still telling
people whenever they cannot spell my name or miss pronounce it
my name is DEANA-Dean and add an a just like Dean Martin's daughter-I
am named after her. I just always wanted to tell you that!! My
mom passed 6 years ago but she would really get a kick out of the
fact that I told you that you are my namesake. I am so glad I am
not a Jennifer! I happen to be proud of my name!! Thanks and Happy
Holidays!!!!
Deana Feldman
Woodridge, NY
Hi Deana,
I just listened to your broadcast (3/13/07 5:30 PDT) in which
you read my e-mail. I am deeply honored and you made me feel happy
that I was able to write something to you that hopefully made a
difference in your life also. I once met Claudia years and years
and years ago. She too was an absolute dream to visit with. The
world would be so much nicer if there were more people in it like
you and your family. Thank you so very much for making me feel
so special.
God bless.
P. Michaels
Hi Deana,
Is there a Dean Martin museum in Steubenville?
Italy Mom
Hi Italy Mom,
There is a local museum in Steubenville, OH that houses some
of my Father and Grandmother’s memorabilia. A beautiful
wedding dress that my Grandmother Angela made by hand, resides
in this local museum. We are working on a Dean Martin Museum
and hope to be successful in breaking ground in the next couple
of years.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I own your book and CD I just love them both. I especially love
your duet with Jerry Lewis. I was wondering if John, that you do
your morning show with, is your husband? Since I remember seeing
the same in your book as your husband.
Ann Plante
Manchester, NH
Hi Ann,
Yes, you are very observant, he is my handsome husband John.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Thank you for answering my letter, I was so surprised to hear from
you. I just finished reading your book and loved it very much.
What a great childhood you must have had. I wish I could have met
your dad, he is the greatest singer. I listen to his music always.
I love to listen to your radio show. Take care.
A great admirer,
Yvonne Pusateri
Hi Deana,
I have been a fan of your father’s forever. Can you tell
me if his Christmas show with your family and Frank Sinatra's family
is on a video or DVD? If so, where can I purchase it? Thank you
for any info you can give me.
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
Unfortunately that fabulous Christmas show is not available
for purchase at this time. Hopefully that will change in the
future.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I’m from Steubenville, Ohio, and am just a couple of years
younger than your father. I knew him slightly, just to say hi to.
We occasionally played baseball in the empty lot across from his
dad's Barber Shop. Something that I remember from that time but
have never read about Dean was his singing in a store called McCrory's
on 4th and Market streets. He sang through a megaphone while an
older lady played the piano. I thought you might be interested
to know this bit of early trivia about your dad.
Skeee Malesky
Hi Skeee,
How wonderful to hear from you. Mario Camerlingo from Steubenville,
OH has shared the story of McCrory’s with me but I do
not recall hearing about the megaphone. Thank you for sharing
you memories with me. It means a lot.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Well you're as sexy as your voice. Haute! I enjoy your show with
John on KIXI here in Seattle. I’m a transplant from Alaska.
I remember walking in the snow to a friend’s house to watch
your father’s show. I was around 11 or 12 at the time. I
enjoyed your father’s show, but it was also because my friend
had a color TV ;) I, of course, always enjoyed the Martin & Lewis
movies. I bought the essential Dino's hits CD and I’m looking
forward to the movie too. Is he on any of those Carson DVD's that
I hear about? Keep playing the big bands & standards. The Al
Hirt, Lou Rawls, Tijuana Brass and such are cool too.
Jayseebee
Hi Jayseebee,
Yes, my Dad is on the Johnny Carson DVD’s. In fact
one particular show is considered one of the top 100 greatest
moments in TV history. And if you’ll keep listening to
our great music, we will keep playing it.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I pray one day I can see your show you have such class and grace
and heart.
God bless.

Buon giorno Deana,
Malte grazie for your absolutely great "Memories" album...we
still have your daddy alive in our hearts and now in your music.
Hope to see you in concert either here in northern California or
Las Vegas. And dog gone it girl get back in that recording studio
and do a "Memories II" album it was good enough for Rod
Stewart and others to reminisce on the oldies...and you'd be absolutely
fabulous singing America’s favorites. Con amore e mille abbraccio.
Louis & Leanne Casolari
Modesto, California
Hi Louis & Leanne,
Malte grazie for your letter and kind words. My new album
should be out by June next year, and my Christmas album by
the end of August.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Love your CD I play it often. Trying to find CD's with your dad
and Sinatra, also looking for CD of Sinatra singing “This
Was My Love”. Do you know what it is?
Rich M.
Hi Rich,
It’s nice to hear you enjoy my CD. Uncle Frank’s
recording of “This Was My Love” was arranged by
Nelson Riddle and recorded on May 14, 1959 and is on his album
Frank Sinatra, “The Complete Capitol Singles Collection,
disc #4.” I hope this helps.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I recently had to retire due to lung disease--you and John have
been the best medicine I could ever take. Thank you for your music
and your warm wonderful persona--hope to see you in person someday.
Thanks again.
Levi Tucker
Hi Levi,
We look forward to seeing you too. Thank you for listening.
Deana
Hello Deana,
My husband and I are big Dean Martin fans & this year I would
like to surprise my husband & bring him down to the festival
for our anniversary. Can you send me any information on
how to get there, where to stay or whom I need to call to get this
information? Thank you!
Rhonda Pappas
Hi Rhonda,
What a great idea for your anniversary. You’ll have
a wonderful time. The information you are looking for is posted
on www.deanmartinsteubenville.com.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I really enjoyed meeting you this past Friday at our Cherry Blossom
Festival Breakfast. Your book is hard to put down I can’t
stop reading it. You are just as out going as your dad was. Please
let us know when your new recording will be out. I could have listened
to you all day talking about your life. God bless you and your
family.
Fay McNulty
Marshfield, MO
Hi Fay,
It’s nice to hear from you. My next CD release will
be June 2008, and the next Christmas album will be at the end
of August.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I’ve been meaning to send this for ages! I listened
to you when you first started on the Music Of Your Life on WTUX
here in Madison, WI. I enjoy your singing; and would really like
to hear you record, “That’s Amore” with a combination
of you & your dad just like, oh you know who don't you? I
sometimes get a chance to hear you in the late afternoon/evening
too. Just don't go away!
Sincerely,
Stan Hershleder
Hi Deana,
Just wanted to know if there is any word when the movie on your
book will be coming out. Have you any idea who will play your father
in the movie?
Theresa Nocerino
Rancho Mirage, CA
Hi Theresa,
The movie, based on my book, “Memories Are Made Of
This” is in the works. Finding someone to play my Dad
is proving to be very difficult. Any suggestions?
Deana
Hi Deana,
I have only recently happened onto your radio station and have
not listened to anything else. Keep up the good work. Also, I loved
your father’s' music.
Jerome Baker
Patchogue, NY
Hi Deana,
I miss your dad and the Rat Pack. There has never been anything
like those guys. I have checked and I haven't seen anything about
how Joey Bishop is doing these days. Can you tell me anything?
Thanks so much,
John Crane
Lakewood, WA
Dear Deana,
I love your radio show. The music you play is the music I love.
We are about the same age so I also grew up in your Father’s
prime. I loved his songs and his TV show. I thought he was a great
actor in the westerns and airport. Thanks for making my life wonderful
through your radio show. I plan on buying your book this weekend.
Tom Schrack
Minnetonka, MN
Ps, you are beautiful.
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your letter. You certainly know how to
lift a girl’s spirits! Thank you for listening.
Deana
Hi Deana,
On a recent trip from NY to PA I had the pleasure of listening
to your radio show for the first time. I wish more radio stations
would play music form the 40's, 50's and 60's. There is such a
huge population and audience appreciation for that era of music.
And just hearing your voice talking on the station is as clear
and articulate and soothing as listening to your dad sings. I can't
wait to move to NY later this year so I can keep picking up that
station in Binghamton. I only hope that station doesn't stop playing
that great music.
Stay well,
Debbie Getz
Whitehall, PA
Hi Deana,
Have searched for months for a CD with “Old Bones”” by
your dad for my 67-year-old sister. Please help me. Her birthday
is coming up and would love to surprise her. Also did he ever sing
that song on one of his TV shows and is it possible to buy a copy
of that also?
Thanks in advance.
Helen
Hi Helen,
My dad recorded “Old Bones” in 1983 and it is
on his “The Nashville Sessions” CD and album.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I listen to you on the radio here in Daytona Beach Florida. I
read your book about your dad and loved every minute of it. I also
have made Grandma Angela's pasta fagioli several times with my
own little twist on it. Everyone enjoys her recipe. Wish I could
meet you sometime. I’m a little younger than you and watched
your dad when I was a child on TV, I thought he was so handsome
and what a great sense of humor. Anyway, if you’re ever in
this area of Florida I would love you to sign my book.
God bless you!
Jane
P.S. My boyfriend and I argue over who was the greatest singer.
I’m for your dad and he's for Frank. Sometimes I think, he
thinks he's Frank, pinky ring and all.
Dear Deana,
I’m a big fan of your father, and I remember watching you
appear on his shows and I really had a crush on you. I notice you
have a Branson, MO address listed. I am from Pittsburg, Kansas,
which is maybe 100 miles from Branson. My grandparents settled
there from Italy and started a bakery. I moved to Los Angeles from
Pittsburg several years ago, and I’m a country artist. I’d
really like to send you an album if you would be willing to listen.
Thanks,
Gary
(My mother's maiden name was Cattelino.)
Dear Deana,
I am writing from Modesto, California. I listen to the radio
all day at work and it is always on the “Music Of Your Life”.
It seems everyone who walks into my office starts to sing along
with whatever is playing. I enjoy your show with your upbeat
voice and attitude and the stories you have to tell about all the
singers we enjoy. I never hear the musical of yellow bird
anymore doesn't anyone else like it?
Keep up the good work!
Karen Stiles
Hi Deana,
When my niece, Beth, was five (38 years ago) she announced that
she had decided that when she grew up, she was going to marry Dean
Martin and Glen Campbell. Dean first because he was older
and then when he died, Glen. When her father pointed out to her
that they were both married, she replied very matter of factly, "Well,
that's your problem, dad!"
Joyce
Dear Deana,
I have been a fan of your dad's for most of my life. I grew up
watching the Martin and Lewis films and loving every minute of
it. Recently I read Jerry's book, “Dean And Me”. It
was wonderful. I so enjoyed it that I next read your book. I felt
as though I were a part of your family while reading the book.
It was so wonderful to get to know your dad through your novel.
Of course, I next read Ricci's book, which was an absolute delight.
Thank you both of sharing your stories. Your dad was such a great
entertainer and it's nice to know that he was also someone who
just loved his family and enjoyed his life. I also come from a
very close-knit Italian family and I know how lucky I am to be
a part of it. It gave me great joy to read about your family. I
hope you are all doing well and are able to still make time for
each other, because in the end, that seems to truly be what is
most important. Thank you again for a lovely read.
Ipdechiaro
Hi Ipdechiaro,
Thank you for your letter and kind words. I am happy
to hear that you enjoyed my book. It’s great to
be Italian, isn’t it? Thank you again.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Along with millions of other fans, I still enjoy your dad's music.
I wish I could have met him. From my perspective (limited, of course),
he really appeared to be a fun guy who brought light heartedness
to everyone who had contact with him. Anyway, one of my favorite
songs that he did is one that I’ve never heard on radio.
He did "Wallpaper Roses". Do you recall that one? Is
there any chance of hearing it on our local station, am 880, KIXI,
here in Seattle? Thanks for your talent and willingness to communicate
with the fans. Your dad was truly an exceptional person, in my
eyes.
Warmest regards,
Ray Holm
Edmonds, Washington
Hi Ray,
Yes, I do remember “Wallpaper Roses” and we
will make it a point to play that for you. Thank you for asking.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Just a short note to tell you I really like your program on Music
Of Your Life. I listen to AM WMYF 1380 in Portsmouth, NH. I
live in Kittery, Maine across the river from Portsmouth. I’ve
noticed that you're on in the morning when I bring my wife to work
and also in the evening. You are one busy lady! I truly
enjoy your stories about growing up with your famous "Uncles" in
your life. Keep up the good work.
Dennis Plante
Hi Deana,
I really enjoy your radio voice and personality. You truly bring
life to a radio with your sweetness and sincerity. And I am amazed
as to how much you look like your dad. He was one of my favorites.
I especially liked him in westerns. I am sure that probably surprises
you with him having such a great singing voice.
God bless.
Jim Jobes
Hi Deana,
Please could you tell me if your father whom I love to listen
to was related to Al Martino?
Than you,
Westroyd
Hi Westroyd,
Al Martino was born "Alfred Cini" October 7, 1927
in Philadelphia, PA. And no, he is not related.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I love your show on the radio. We get it on KKAD 1550 Vancouver,
Portland. It’s a 50,000 watts station. I was a big
fan of your dad and glad you are keeping the legend of your father
going.
Gary Pinkard
Hillsboro, Oregon
Hi Deana,
I am 11 years old and I listen to you on the "WTUX" in
Madison, WI and I would love to have your autograph! I love your
show!
Thank you!
Nathan
Hi Nathan,
You’re 11 years old and you listen to “Music
Of Your Life”. That’s fantastic! I’m
happy to send an autographed photo to you, and thank you for
listening.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Thanks so much for reading my email on Music Of Your Life. I was
listening to it and couldn't believe you were actually reading
my e-mail. I love the music you play, especially Dino. I can't
wait for that Christmas special to come out. Hope it's soon.
Thanks again,
Mickey (Michelle)
Hi Deana,
Some of the songs that you spin are ones that I played on the
piano in 1961. They came from "hits of the 50's made easy
for the piano." Thanks for the terrific memories! I loved
your dad's TV show, especially when he came on stage and jumped
up on the piano. (I remember one that "crashed" when
he jumped up on it.) His pianist just shook his head and shrugged
his shoulders. Deana, I’d love to have your picture
and autograph to add to my collection. You rock!
Kind regards,
Barry Kinyon
Lynnwood, WA
Hi again Deana,
I sent you two emails and you read them both on the air!!
I first sent you your grandfather's registration card, then the
one about my niece, Beth. (Which I managed to tape and listened
to it when I got home). Then I got home today, turned the
radio on and you were reading the one about your grandfather.
Thank you, I always enjoy the shows and listen whenever I can.
Joyce Johnson
Cloquet, Minnesota
Hi Deana,
Will you be putting on a performance at the 2008 festival like
you did in 2006? We would love to attend if you do.
Ralph
Hi Ralph,
Yes I will be performing again in 2008. I look forward to
seeing you there.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I listen to “Music Of Your Life” Radio AM 880, while
I am at work here at the Boeing Plant in Kent, Washington. I have
a "Rat Pack" story to share with you. When you
dad and the rest of the "Rat Pack" were filming "Oceans
Eleven" in Vegas. I was with my mom sitting beside the pool
at the casino, it was either the Sands or the Stardust, I don't
remember, I was only a young child at this time happily eating
an ice cream cone. Sammy Davis Jr. was trailing behind the Rat
Pack as they were walking into the casino, when he stopped and
asked me if my ice cream was good. I quickly nodded yes and offered
him a lick from my ice cream cone. To my mom's chagrin, Sammy politely
declined and said what a thoughtful little girl I was. I will never
forget that moment. I am a baby boomer too, born on 7-4-52.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Meehleis
Dear Deana,
I know you were in the "Some Like It Lukewarm" episode
of the Monkees. I was a big Monkees fan, watching the episodes
over and over much more than I should have, and I thought I noticed
you as an extra in other episodes, like "Too Many Girls".
Am I imagining things?
G. Ventola
Hi G. Ventola,
“Some Like It Lukewarm” was my only Monkees
show. I had so much fun with Davy and the guys. Recently I
performed with Davy in Chicago and it was wonderful reunion.
There are photos from both on my web site.
Deana
Dear Deana,
When I was 15 yrs old, I worked at the star cigar store, in Steubenville,
Ohio, during my summer vacation. During that time, I got to know
your grandfather, Mr. Crocetti, who came into the store to play
the numbers. I’ll never forget the kind way he treated me,
just a young kid taking his numbers play. At that time, the star
cigar was the numbers clearing house for the entire tri-state area.
The Rex Cigar Store was just around the corner on Market St., where
your dad worked as a young man. The star was on 6th St., across
from the railroad station. I thought this memory of mine might
be of interest to your family.
Regards,
Sandy
Hi Deana,
My husband and I love your radio show! Please play "If" by
Bread any Beatles songs of your choice any dance type songs of
your choice of course, any Dean or Deana Martin songs of your choice!
Steve & Cindy Fletcher
Liverpool, New York
Hi Steve & Cindy,
We will be happy to play all of them for you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I listen to KIXI and love all of the oldies. You have a very beautiful
and soothing voice. My mother was a huge fan of your dad's. Recently,
we were in Laughlin, Nevada attending a convention. We went to
one of the shows and there were impersonators of your dad and Frank
Sinatra. I loved the show and it really took us back in time. Wish
we could turn the clock back. Your dad was a marvelous entertainer.
Best,
Lynda Denney
Dear Deana,
I enjoy your music on the radio between 4-5 am while I deliver
newspapers in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’ve noticed 2
or 3 Judy's sending e-mail. So I thought I’d add to
them. I am wondering where John is from in the music background
and you are very close to each other. Also do you really
dress up when you say you do on the radio or do you show up in
sweats like most of US Newspaper Carriers. Anyway thanks for keeping
me company while I deliver my route.
Judy Haroldsen
Hi Judy,
I really do dress up some mornings, because immediately after
the radio show I leave for the theatre to do a concert. A lady
always has to look good to go to the theatre. And I am happy
to look my best for my radio show because my co-host John that
you are asking about is my handsome husband. Thank you for
your letter and it I’m happy to hear that we keep you
company on your route. Thanks for listening.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I can sometimes catch you in the afternoons, but not by the radio
as much then. Appreciate the music you play very much. We
are pre-baby-boomer and so like the "real" oldies (40s,
50s) best. Have enjoyed your book (we were one of the winners on
Music Of Your Life) and give you lots of credit for being a survivor. It's
very obvious how much you loved your dad and he loved you. Thanks
for sharing so intimately.
Your bright spirit is refreshing!
Linda & Mike
Oregon
Dear Deana,
It was about 1950 when I taught you, Craig, and Claudia a "top
hat" kind of tap routine at the Ebsen's School Of Dance in
Pacific Palisades. What a precious doll you were - and your siblings
were just as adorable! (Craig wouldn't want to hear that!). You
were billed at the recital as simply, the Martin’s; but you
and your sisters were in several other numbers as well. You were
one of my "dolls" in the ballerina dolls number. Just
wanted you to know that though the years I have told so many people
of that delightful experience I had with each of you. And. we loved
it when Papa Crocetti brought you to the studio along with luscious
donuts for Vilma, the pianist and me! You are beautiful!
C. Moses
Hi Miss Patsy,
This is great! It’s so wonderful to hear from you.
I was just talking about you and the Buddy Ebsen School Of
Dance. It was Buddy’s birthday last month and I honored
him on the air. Oh, the good old days. What memories you bring
with this letter. Thank you very much, Miss Patsy. You have
always been in my heart.
Deana
Dear Deana,
My favorite memory of your father is a little unusual in that
it's not of him personally, but rather of his music. In these modern
times where the popular music is of a type I’d rather my
10 year old daughter not listen to, quality music is hard to come
by...then came your father Dean Martin. My daughter Noelle and
I like to mambo to "Sway" and although we really can't
dance we have a great time and "Sway" is her favorite
song. So I can say that my favorite memories of your father are
the "new memories" that I am making and introducing a
new generation to a man who made music great.
Thank you.
Doug Taylor
Hi Doug,
First of all, thank you for introducing your 10-year-old
daughter to quality music. You set an excellent standard for
all parents, because it’s your influence that makes a
difference in their character. And, I bet you’re a great
dancer. You have given me a “new memory”. Thank
you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I have always wondered why no one has come out with a duet album
of your dad's with all of the wonderful artists that he performed
with on his television show. Could you let me know if there are
any plans to do so?
The Wood Family
Hi to The Wood Family,
Yes, we are presently working on a duets album for my father.
It should be out this summer.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I’m retired and now live in Copperopolis, CA. I listen to
your program almost daily from KLIV in Modesto, CA. And love all
the "real" music played. Problem: I loved the soundtrack
music from movie "Two For The Road". I thought the vocalist
was Peggy Lee, but cannot find any trace of this recording on the
web. You and others occasionally play a male version of this song
but I never hear who the artist is. You played a version of this
recording on Monday April 2nd. I think it may be Peter Marshal
or Vic Damone but again the web sites don’t list “Two
For The Road” for these artists. Please help; I want to buy
a CD.
Thank you.
Page Liggett
Hi Page,
It’s nice to hear that you love the real music we play
on “Music Of Your Life”. The song you mentioned
is “Two For The Road” and it was performed by Vic
Damone. I hope this helps you.
Deana
Dear John and Deana,
Spoke and saw you last week Nov. 27ths show. Enjoyed Les
Brown band and you very much.
Also want to thank you both for your picture you sent us a couple
weeks ago. Real nice of both of you. Glad we got to
talk to you both in person. You were both so nice to us. We
bought your CD and enjoy playing it. Wish I could have gotten your
book about your dad. We had to hurry and catch our cab at
12:00 so couldn’t stay until the show was over. Had
to meet our bus at the Cooper show. We bought the CD before
the show started in the lobby.
Thanks again for the picture and the short visit. Loved
the show!
God’s blessings,
Dick & Marge Wandler
Clinton, IA 52732
Dear Deana,
I’m back in Watchung, NJ visiting my 95-year-old mother
and listening to your delightful CD. Thank you for helping to bridge
the gap that will always exist with the loss of your father. I
need to hear you sing the amazing songs of your father. I think
we will all always morn his loss and yet celebrate his life. You
can really never get enough Dean Martin. So, hearing you sing so
beautifully has been good medicine for what ails us all. Be well
and thank you again for your gift.
Joe DuPont
Hi Joe,
Thank you so much for your letter and kind words about my
dad and my CD. It is my honor to be able to sing my father’s
songs and if I bring pleasure to his fans, I’ve reached
my goal. Please, say hello to your mom for me.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I cannot locate a song that I heard several years ago... Could
you please help me? It did a lot of rhyming and mentioned many
of the stars of yesteryear, including Astaire, Sinatra, and probably
your father and Garland, etc... And it seemed like it touched all
of the "bases". It was a wonderful song and I cannot
recall enough of the lyrics to locate. Please be my savior, thanks.
Joe Dougherty
Hi Joe,
This will take some homework. If anyone has a suggestion,
please let us know. You’ll have to stay tuned for this
answer Joe, but as soon as I find out, I will let you know.
Deana
Good morning Deana and John,
At 5:00 am in the morning, it must be matrimonial bliss at its
finest! I enjoy your am program and look forward to the 6:30 am
mailbag while driving to work. My wife and I have bought tickets
to the Deana Martin and Les Brown show, I believe, on the 31st
of May. We will be in Branson for a vacation May 26 - June 2. I
thought you said, this morning, Wednesday, March 28, that you will
be singing May 1st with Les Brown. Will you be singing during the
times we will be in Branson? We would love to hear you sing if
you are performing in the area. I have your albums and have read
your books, both done with class.
Sincerely,
Larry M. Smith
Hi Larry,
Yes I will be performing that week here in Branson and Les
Brown will be with me. We look forward to seeing you there.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I made a copy of your father singing some of his greatest hits
on public station. On the tape your father is singing to
a little girl. I don't know if it's you but I will send you
a copy of the tape. I love all his songs but my favorite
song has to be "On An Evening In Roma", which I heard
you sing on the radio the other day. I listen to the station
most of the day. I get the station in Manchester, WFEA 1370
on the dial.
Thomas C. Nichols
Manchester
Hi Tom,
Isn’t “On An Evening In Roma” a beautiful
song? As for the little girl on the show, that’s
on the “Memories Are Made Of This” DVD and unfortunately,
no one is sure who she is.
Deana
Dear Deana,
On your show today (April 3), you read a note from a listener
who was trying to identify a song she'd heard on Music Of Your
Life. Sadly, you didn't know what the song was. I think the song
she described is "I’m Beginning To Like It" by
the Bill Walker Orchestra. Music Of Your Life often plays this
song to fill up spaces between programming and either commercials
or station breaks, and no one ever identifies it on the air - I
had to write to MYL myself to find out what the song was!
Andrew C. Jones,
Gladstone, MI,
Listener over WDBC AM in Escanaba, MI
Hi Andrew,
Thanks to wonderful people like you, the most knowledgeable
listeners in the world, we have the ability to answer the most
difficult trivia questions. Thank you Andrew. You are now by
subscription on my permanent list of “Deana’s Diogonesyic
Decipherers”. Soon I shall call upon you to help solve
riddles and puzzles of all sorts. Jimmy Monoco of CliffWood
Beach, NJ is also a member. Welcome aboard.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I really appreciate your program! I have my clock radio
set on WMRI Marion, IN to come on at 6 o'clock and there you are
every morning and I wake up to your music. I’m thinking
that you might choose to be on at a later time but it is perfect
for me. Those great songs really take me back. I remember
them all and enjoy hearing them again. I don't very often
hear your evening program but I tune in whenever I can. Keep
up the good work! It is the only music I listen to anymore. I
'd feel lost without it now.
Bob George
Hi Deana,
Are any of your brothers or sisters in show business? We hear
all yours and your father’s great music on WRZN radio in
central FL.
Richard Chandler
Hi Richard,
Yes, I have a brother named Ricci who has a Dean Martin tribute
show and he is so cute.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Heard your program yesterday and got your e-mail address. My
wife and I saw several of Dean’s shows in Vegas and thought
he was the greatest. Play more of his songs on the radio!!
Thanks,
Pete & Nancy
Hi Pete & Nancy,
I agree that my dad was the greatest and I love your suggestion
that I play more Dean Martin songs on the radio. I’m
more than happy to oblige. Thank you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I have always enjoyed hearing your dad's record “Everybody
Loves Somebody Sometime” from 1964. It brings back great
memories of being a 14-year-old kid in Hawaii! Two other songs
I can think of which are definitely music of my life are: "Popsicles
And Icicles" by the Murmaids, and "Johnny Angel" by
Shelley Fabares. I have never heard you play those songs on your
show. Are these records in the "Music Of Your Life" library?
If so, can you please play them for me, as well as your dad's song "Everybody
Loves Somebody Sometime"? Thanks a bunch!
Laura Sprague
Hi Deana,
I listen, when I can to your program of recorded music on our
local FM station. What I don't like is, the station will cut into
your program to launch into a sports program. Are you now on any
XM Radio stations or if not are you planning to do so. I’m
approaching 70 and miss the high quality music of years gone by.
Keep up the good work. Also when in Branson do you perform there?
Always,
Dan & Peggy Hogan
Timberville, VA
Hi Dan and Peggy,
Yes, I have a new XM Satellite Radio show called “The
Strip” and it’s on the 50’s on channel 5.
And when I am not touring I do perform in Branson. Check my
website (www.deanmartin.com) and click on “Tours And
Events” for the complete schedule.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Firstly, I am pleasantly surprised to find out about your hit
CD, and my wife and I would love to catch your show in Branson!
Secondly, I would really love it if the episode of your dad's show
that featured Mae West was available on DVD. If it isn't, could
you pull some strings and make it available? As a great man once
said, “Memories Are Made Of This”
Thomas Tucker
Hi Deana,
I live in Northeast PA; I am 52 years of age, passionate about
drumming and love the big band swing music. I sometimes pull you
in on WINR, Binghamton NY. We badly need a MOYL station in the
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre market! When able, I listed to you at 6:00
pm, and what a breath of fresh air that is. I am having a hard
time finding a recording of one of your dad's tunes. I thought
if anyone would know, you would. Can you tell me on which recording
I may find his rendition of "Please Don't Talk About Me When
I’m Gone"? I can only imagine what it must have been
like growing up in your home, with all of the famous singers and
performers.
Thank you in advance for your response!
Rick Holt
Clarks Summit, PA
Hi Rick,
He has a great rendition of it on his new CD “Dean
Martin Forever Cool”. I highly recommend it.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I continue to love your dad's music, but I want to sell my collection
of about 15 of his capitol albums (all absolute mint condition).
Do you know of any fan clubs where I might hook up with the right
collectors? Thanks, and good luck with your career!
Don Gamsby
Hi Deana,
It's Michael you may not remember but you called me and sent an
autograph. Anyway my question is I would like to get involved with
some type of program that has to do with your dad's legacy. Because
he has been such a large part of my life, I would life to become
closer with his. Any ideas? Thanks, and stay well!!
Michael Savoca
Hi Michael,
It makes me very happy to hear that you are interested in
helping to preserve my Dad’s legacy. My suggestion is
that you contact Rose Angelica in Steubenville, OH. She is
the Director of the Dean Martin Festival and I am certain she
would appreciate your help. You can contact her by visiting deanmartinsteubenville.com.
Deana
Dear Mr. John Griffeth,
I got your name off of Deana Martin's website. I reside here in
Lead Hill, Arkansas not far from Branson. When I moved here a year
and a half ago, it was part of seventh heaven due primarily to
the capability of listening to Music Of Your Life radio station.
I have enjoyed for a good length of time listening to this broadcast
along with the co-hosts of Deana Martin and now the radio station
has gone to somewhere... Don't know where??? Please let me and
other fans know where the stars play the stars music. Where can
I reach this broadcast? I was listening to 107.5 FM and now it
is playing some other kind of arranged music selections. Looking
forward to hearing from you and receiving some vital information.
Thanks for listening, a continuous fan of Dean, Deana and all the
great singing artists of Music Of Your Life. Give my best to Deana
and tell her we thank her for keeping her dad's music alive.
Sincerely a Fan,
Joan Payne
Hi Joan,
We’re sorry to hear that 107.5 has changed its format.
If you have a computer, you can listen online at musicofyourlife.com
or kixi.com.
Thank you,
John
Hi Deana,
Enjoying your Music Of Your Life. Would never have known how to
get it online until you answered an email I sent you. Thanks so
much. I have your CD and I love it. Deana, have you ever thought
about making a recording along with one of your dad's? That would
be terrific.
Mickey (Michelle) Kobani
Dear Deana,
As a New York bred Italian American my household was filled with
the music of the great ones: Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Vale,
Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Louis Prima - well you get the picture.
I was especially fond of your dad's music, especially “That’s
Amore” I loved him as a singer, as an actor, and as a great
comic entertainer. There was only one Dino. I loved your book,
as well as Jerry Lewis' affectionate and "from the heart" memoir.
You both loved that man and I can see why. He was what he was -
no phoniness about him. Keep up the great work.
Tom Barte
Olympia, WA
Hi Deana,
First I must say you are smoking hot! Breathless! I heard you
on the Music Of Your Life. I love your dad and Bennett also I wish
I could have met your dad. I got to meet Bennett! Nice guy!!! But
Dino is so great. If I bought a CD from you would you sign it?
Please let me know thanks for your time.
Dave Rother
Apple Valley, MN
Hi Dave,
Now, this is a great letter! It’s nice to hear you
think I’m “smoking hot” and I would be honored
to autograph my CD for you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Thank you so much for calling my father. I just spoke with him.
He was choking up telling me about your conversation. He is telling
everyone in the nursing home about it too. This means a lot! Thank
you, thank you,
Thank you!
Mary Ann Hill
Lee’s Summit, MO
Dear Deana,
I listen to you every day on WTLA in Syracuse. I can't begin to
tell you how many good memories come back whenever you talk about
your dad. My own dad raised me well--on Goodman, Kayser,
and Miller, as the song goes. And of course Spike Jones.
He once went to see Spike and His City slickers in Kansas City,
and Spike was at his best, wearing a chartreuse plaid suit! He
also told me how Sinatra's "I’ll Never Smile Again" was
the first record he ever bought. One of the best memories I have
is the day he gave me the gold "Summit" album. That
album is my pride and joy.
Thank you for the memories. If you loved your dad half as
much as I love mine, then you're a very, very lucky woman! By
the way, I love your album, especially the duet with Jerry.
Elizabeth Turner
Syracuse, NY
Hi Deana,
I listen to Music Of Your Life every day on my way to work. I
enjoy all the great memories you bring to mind with stories about
your dad and his pals. Your book was terrific. It was almost like
actually being there with you while you were growing up. I would
like to get some of your CD's as soon as my "retirement" budget
allows! Keep singing and talking to me on the radio!
Judy Cump
Chambersburg, PA
Hi Judy,
If you’ll keep listening, I am happy to keep singing
and playing all this great music.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Although I am only 21 yrs old, I am writing you to tell what a
huge fan I am of your father. I grew up in South Philadelphia and
have had much exposure to Frank Sinatra but I truly love not only
your father's music but also the attitude, charisma and coolness
he displayed. So, I just wanted to let you know that even someone
as young as I still listen and enjoy the great songs of your father
from so many years ago.
Thanks,
Mario D'Adamo
Philadelphia, PA
Hi Deana,
I love your radio show and I loved your dad from when I was a
little girl. I loved him so much my parents took me to the Copa
when I was seven years old in 1956 to see him and Jerry. I took
a picture with your dad and still have it. I put it away for many
years but when your dad passed I framed it and have had it on my
mantel ever since. When guest come to my home and see it they are
in awe. Just thought to tell you I think and pray for your dad
often because I have his picture to remind me of him.
Sincerely,
Linda
Dear Deana,
I just finished reading your book about your dad. I finished in
within 24 hours. You did a great job. I have been a fan since I
was about 9 and I am now 53. Loved your father’s style and
the smoothness of his voice. You can hear him smiling while he
is singing if you listen closely. He was truly the "King of
Cool". He will always be around because his music is timeless.
Grace Werlitz
Wappinger Falls, NY
Dear Deana,
As a great big fan of your dad's I was wondering where I could
see the tapes of "Dean Martin Live In London" or "The
Ultimate Event" that were both on the net but pulled for copyright.
Roger Renner
Hi Deana,
Thank you for your autographed picture of yourself. I just saw
that a movie is going to be made about your dad. How wonderful.
I have loved your dad's music and Frank's music as well. I have
33 records of your dad's that belonged to my ex-mother-in-laws
that must have been from the early sixties. Watched your dad’s
TV. Show that took place then. What a great time to be growing
up then. I still listen to all of you from Music Of Your Life.
I hear all my favorites that I have requested. I just finished
listening to this week’s music from the advisory board that
I am on. Has there been any one picked to play your father in the
movie? Thanks again for your picture.
Diane Sharpe
Duluth, MN
Hi Diane,
There are some great actors that we are looking at but I’m
not at liberty to say until the contracts are signed. Do you
any suggestions? This is a very difficult decision.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I am big fan of your father's movies and recently had my girlfriend
watch a "Martin" film marathon. His best movie was "The
Young Lions" which I feel does not get near enough credit.
Not to take away from his other movies with the "Rat Pack".
Your father was a fine actor that could hold his own with the likes
of Marlon Brandon.
Best wishes,
Mark Monroe
Hi Mark,
Thank you for saying that. I couldn’t agree more, as
I have always felt my dad was a fabulous actor but he just
did not get the credit he deserved.
Deana
Dear Deana,
My story is that I am so pleased that someone is still singing
and enjoying real music. I grew up listening to your Dad, Frank
Sinatra, Bing Crosby & the big bands. It is very very difficult
these days to find a radio channel that still appreciate good music & good
entertainment. Thank you so much - I have found a channel in Clinton,
Iowa and can listen to you. My mother thanks you too.
Ruth Linenberger
Davenport, IA
Hi Deana,
I was going ask Nancy Sinatra this question too. I have looked
hi and low and can't find a VHS or DVD copy of your dad, Frank,
Sammy, Joey, and Peter Lawford in "Sergeants 3".
Thanks so much,
John Crane
Lakewood, WA
Hi John,
“Sergeants Three” is a great movie but unfortunately
not available on VHS or DVD..
Deana
Dear Deana,
I am presently reading your book about your dad and family and
I must say it is a very good book. I loved everything about your
dad, his music, his films and all he did. Sure do miss him.
Yvonne Pusateri
Pittsburgh, PA
Dear Deana,
I was so fortunate to find your program on the web and I can thank
my son for this, as he knows how much I love all things Rat Pack
and that whole marvelous era, I was fortunate to grow up in. Well
Deana you are the big bonus in the package - how proud your dad
must be of you and your success too. I’ve heard some
of your CD and love your rendition of "Ain’t That A
Kick In The Head" especially - it's seems you can now do that
Natalie Cole duet with her great father - with this particular
tune it should be a hit!!!! You have been my steady evening
companion here in Toronto, Canada and believe me, I am very particular
about who I keep company with.
Sincerely,
Yolanda Caico
Hi Yolanda,
They say you are judged by the company you keep. So,
it sounds like I’m in very good company indeed. Say
hello and thank you to your son for me.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I am a big Dean Martin fan. I have recently just finished your
book and could not put it down. I look forward to seeing the movie.
I am a self-published author and love your writing. You are a great
storyteller.
Thank you,
William S. Stephens
Amelia, OH
Hi William,
It’s an honor to be praised by a fellow author. I put
my heart and soul into my book and your kind words are appreciated. Thank
you.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I finally heard you read my letter on your show. I agree that
Johnny Depp is a good actor but to play your father I guess I can’t
see him doing that. I have to say I am bad when it comes to your
dad and to get someone to play him won’t be easy. The only
one who came close was Joe Mantegna who is the producer I believe
of the movie. I have seen a lot of men who play Dean Martin in
shows in Vegas and they come close but are not the real thing.
Again thanks for reading the letter and for keeping your dad's
music alive.
Theresa Nocerino
Rancho Mirage, CA
Dear Deana,
I am 16 and my mom and I love to listen to your show, the other
day we hear you say that you wanted Johnny Depp to play your father
but we think that he is completely wrong for the part and that
you could find someone much better to play him.
Sincerely,
Marissa and Susan
Samamish, WA
Hi Marissa and Susan,
I’m very happy to hear you enjoy my show. Now, since
you don't feel Johnny Depp would be appropriate to play my
father in the movie, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts
as to who would be your choice for the role. I look forward
to hearing from you soon.
Deana
Dear Deana,
My wife, Norma and I really enjoy you on WMRI, Marion, IN. I have
Dean's Roast series and variety shows. He was (and is) such an
inspiration. We have a family music corporation in the top 5 dealers
of Hammond organ and also Kurzweil pianos. I would love for you
to come to our restored theatre in downtown Anderson, IN. I am
the resident organist and also a promoter. I would help plan the
event. You were in the audience at Branson at the Pam Tillis show.
I wish we had come up and met you. It was the weekend of Oct. 20-23
2005. Keep up the good singing. Your dad was the greatest and you
are too!
George & Norma Smith
Anderson, IN
Hello Deana and John,
Thank you so very much for the radio shows which bring us the
wonderful "Music of Our Lives". I was a teenager
during the fabulous fifties. This music warms my heart and
brings back so many delightful memories. Maybe I will have
the opportunity to see you perform sometime in Branson. Deana,
thank you for writing your book, “Memories Are Made Of This”. I
have just finished reading it and enjoyed it tremendously. There
are 10 siblings in my family (including me) ages 60 to 75.
The radio station I listen to is KTOP 1490 AM in Topeka, KS.
Sincerely,
Ginger Hefley
Topeka, KS
Good morning Deana,
I have recently discovered your radio show this year. I have enjoyed
listening to your show. I have recently purchased a copy of your
book and I am looking forward to reading it. My son also enjoys
listening to the station Music Of Your Life. He plays the alto/tenor
sax and also the bassoon. I am so glad he enjoys my kind of music
and enjoys playing it. It is so much more relaxing than most of
the music these days. I have a question for you. I checked with
the Mickey Gilley Theatre and they have only one time listed for
you to be there. That is May 1st. is that the only time you will
be there in the near future? I so wanted to bring my son to hear
you and Les Brown Jr. He is interested in playing music for a living
(maybe in the Branson area) and I wanted him to see and hear great
music, but the 10:00 am showing is during school. I can get off
work, but I can't get him out of school. Thank you for your time
in reading this rambling note. I appreciate what you are doing
with your music and your father's music. Just goes to show people
that there is still good music around.
Ruth Lea
Springfield, MO
Hi Ruth,
It’s good to hear your son likes Big Band music and
he sounds like a very talented musician. I will be at the Mickey
Gilley Theatre for the Spring, Fall and Winter season. All
of my tour dates are posted on my website, just go to www.deanamartin.com,
and click on “Tours and Events”. I hope to see
you there.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Thanks for making my afternoon commute a lot more bearable. I've
got a question about the song “Summer Wind” your Uncle
Frank recorded. I’m trying to find the version of “Summer
Wind” that is played on the Music Of Your Life. It is more
up-tempo than the version on Sinatra reprise “The Very Good
Years”. Any ideas where I could find the up-tempo version
of summer wind?
Thanks honey!
Kurt Blomquist
Seattle, WA
Hi Kurt,
Thank you for your letter. Are you sure it’s Uncle
Frank, or could it be Michael Bubble?
Deana
Hi Deana,
I can't think of two singers much more different than Dean Martin
and Merle Haggard. And yet your father had a minor hit single with
Mr. Haggard's "I Take A Lot Of Pride In What I Am." As
far as you know, did "Hag" ever say what he thought of
your dad's version of his tune? Did Dino and Merle ever meet?
Thanks.
Andrew C. Jones
Hi Andrew,
Yes, my Dad did meet Mr. Haggard and I know that he was a
Merle Haggard fan.
Deana
Dear Deana,
My family and I listened through the net as you read my e-mail
letter on your show Thursday evening. It sounded a whole lot better
when you read it, ha! Your kind voice did justice to my words.
Your “mail bag” is a neat feature on your program and
this one was surely a thrill to hear. I plan on adding and enjoying “Swingin’ With
Dino” to my music collection. Many thanks for answering my
letter and for a great moment to remember.
Best regards,
Rick Holt
Clarks Summit, PA
Hi Deana,
I wanted to tell you how wonderful your book is. It’s one
of the rare books I have said I don’t want this to end! Could
you tell me what Jeanne is doing now and Cathy and Sasha? Thanks.
Cathy
Hi Cathy,
My beautiful mom Jeanne is living in Beverly Hills surrounded
by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. And
Cathy and Sasha are both doing well.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I listen to your program on my local Music Of Your Life
“WORD 1340”, and enjoy it very much. I loved your father's singing
and his TV show. And also your "Uncle Frank’s" shows and singing.
I only wished I could have met them in person. I hope to meet you some day
in Branson; you are a great singer.
God bless and bona fortuna (good luck).

Hi Deana,
If you played, "When I’m Sixty Four" by the Beatles
this morning, I missed it. I overslept today (4-25). I
would really love to hear that song. Thank you. I’m
listening this evening.

Dear Deana,
Did you ever go out to your pool, as a youngster, and there was
sat Marilyn Monroe or Natalie Wood with Dean and his friends? Can
you address this on your show this evening (Friday, 27th)?
Thank you, love your show.
Jack Rundell
Hi Jack,
It’s nice to hear that you love my show and yes, Natalie
Wood was a friend of my parents and I actually danced the twist
for Marilyn Monroe to Bobby Sarin’s song "Up A Lazy
River" my brother, Dino. Oh, the memories!
Deana
Dear Deana,
Thank you for the title of your mother's song. I’ll be sure
to buy your CD “Memories Are Made Of This”.

Hi Deana,
Thank you for the beautiful photo. I’m looking around
the house for a frame right now, and if I don't find a suitable
frame here I will go out and find one. You know my mother had
a real crush on your father, and she would really be thrilled
to see that I have this sweet gift from you. I’m excited
for you to hear my music but I imagine you must be very busy
so no rush. I understand because I’m busy with four of
my websites and getting a single out to radio right now. Deana,
I don't intend to sound "preachy" here, but I’m
so disappointed with the females I see on television today, so
you, being such a classy person, have all of my love and support
in all that you do. I have a beautiful son and daughter and I’m
determined to have them know what the word "talent" means.
We were so blessed to have grown up with Dean Martin, Jimmy Durante,
Milton Berle, Johnny Carson, and Carol Burnett.... I know you
understand. You are on this level, and so am I so let's silently
start changing things for the better.
Love ya,
Gary Gene Bolton
Hello Deana,
I was born in 1966, but was raised with your father's music always
being played. I am an incredible fan!!! Was he as great as I would
have thought of him to be? I am also planning on buying your book.
Thank you, p.s. I see looks very much run in the family.
Best wishes,
Jonathan Yuds

Hi Jonathan,
Yes, he was as great, as you would have thought him to be. He
was the coolest dad in the world.
Deana
