"THE STRIP"
Daughter of Legendary Entertainer Dean Martin
Makes Satellite Radio Debut on June 27
Washington, D.C., May 31, 2007 - XM, the nation's leading satellite
radio service with more than 8 million subscribers, has named Deana
Martin as co-host of its premier swingin' Vegas show, "The Strip" (XM
5). Martin, the daughter of legendary entertainer Dean Martin,
will make her radio debut with co-host Ken Smith on Wednesday, June
27th at 6:00pm ET with encore broadcasts on Friday at 9pm PT and Sundays
at 6pm ET.
As co-host of "The Strip," Martin will share her passion and appreciation
for swing music, as well as personal experiences and memories from
the "Rat Pack" era of the 60s and 70s. Listeners will be treated
to backstage stories about Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett,
Judy Garland, and Rosemary Clooney and their performances in venues
that range from The Sands in Las Vegas to the Martin family living
room.
An accomplished performer, recording artist and talk show host, Deana
Martin is a best-selling author of the book Memories Are Made of This:
Dean Martin as Seen through His Daughter Eyes. In 2006, she thrilled
audiences across the globe with her Memories Are Made of This concert
tour, during which she performed popular hits by her father and other
famous swing performers.
