Deana,
Question: en que año y durante cuanto tiempo cantó Dean con cugat?
Thank you for
your answer.
Patrick
HI Deana,
Thank you for
your time; I am seeking a photo of Mr. Martin for the purpose
of including it along with a short bio,
In the set of book cards I am in the process of publishing titled "Italian
American Hall of Famers"
These collector cards are a diverse collection to honor Italian
Americans who have made significant contributions to American culture
in their respective fields. Having led successful lives making
a great change in our society.
For educational illustration which can spark interesting discussion
in classrooms and an excellent way for students to learn, reflect,
inform about great strides made by others and honor Italian Americans.
His photo and bio will be a great contribution to this endeavor
and greatly appreciated.

Hi Deana,
I happened
upon your site by sheer luck. I am looking for music and lyrics
for the song "old bones"
for my father. Daddy is 84 and plays piano and sings at senior
centers 3 days a week (where he is frequently older than some of
the seniors he's entertaining!). And daddy uses me as his Internet
provider in his never-ending search for older pieces of music.
I’ve been searching for "old bones" for about 4
months now. Can you help?
Thank you,
Dian
Hello Deana,
Thank you for
continuing the legacy of one of the greatest singers ever. I
grew up listening to Dean and laughing at he and Jerry. What
a team! I feel a special connection because I lost my son the
same day and time as he lost his son. My son was military as
well.
Bless you for
keeping his music alive.
Wanda
Hi Deana:
I just finished with your book and I can give you the highest compliment
of any author: I really felt like I knew you and your father
after. Question: after the MDA telethon in 1976 when your dad
and Jerry made up, did they keep in touch and socialize after
that. Thanks: you are an excellent writer.
Chris in N.J.
Hi Chris,
Dad
and Jerry kept in touch with each other through the years.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I wanted to
let you know how much I enjoyed reading your book about your
father Dean Martin. I saw a lot of the same characteristics with
your dad & mine maybe that is why my dad loved your father
so much. A lot of people my age, 53, grew up listening to Dean
because of our parents. My father made me aware of Al Jolsen
who he enjoyed too & only your dad could sing Jolsen songs & do
them justice. This was my first visit to Steubenville for the
Dean Martin festival. I really didn't know what to expect as
we drove into Steubenville. I cried to see the plaque of your
father and all the billboards of Dean. I cried as I walked the
streets listening to Dean's voice fills the air & hearing
Dean singing, "return to me" in the restaurant, I cried
more. You can only imagine what my heart felt as I saw the beautiful
mural of your father. So by the time I saw you walk into Kroger's
I was overwhelmed with emotions. The festival was such a wonderful
tribute to your father; this was my 2nd father's day without
my dad. Each year for me is harder and harder but being with
you at the festival would have really made my dad proud, I’m
sure my dad was watching over me. One question for you, are you
going to have a postage stamp issued of your father for next
year?? I think it would be a wonderful tribute to your father!!
2nd question, when my dad passed away in my arms, a song came
on our TV station that plays classic music & had a young
picture of your dad singing a song with the words "for you,
just for you". I thought I have heard every song your father
recorded but I can't figure this one out. My father was dying
of respiratory failure. I was talking to my father as he was
passing & asked him to go with Dean, but to please send me
a message to let me know he was ok and with his idol, Dean Martin
who he never got to meet. 20 minutes after my dad passed away,
me still with my father this song came on. I believe this was
a message from my dad. I know this is a lot to ask, but I am
hoping you might know what song I am talking about so I can get
all the words to it. Thanks for reading this very long letter
and for taking a picture with me. My husband & I got to talk
to John while you were busy signing books & I got a picture
with your husband. I can't wait to see you again next year. Thanks
for keeping your father's memory alive for all of us to enjoy
!!!
Love,
Rosemary
Hi Rosemary,
This
was a very compelling letter-thank you. The song you are asking
about is called “For You” from the album
“This Time I'm Swingin/Pretty Baby.” I look forward
to seeing you and your photos in June at the next Dean Martin Festival.
Deana
HI Deana,
My name is
Shawn and I live in Moundsville, WV about an hour from Steubenville.
First off let me start of by saying I am a big fan of your father,
I loved watching him in the ‘Cannon Ball Run’ movies.
I have a question for you. We have a traveling puppet company
out of Moundsville and we are creating a 50's and 60's show to
take to nursing homes we would some of your father's songs for
this show. If you would allow this we would send you a DVD of
the show. We would greatly appreciate this and I feel this would
be another great way to pay tribute to your father here in the
Ohio valley.
Thank you,
Shawn
Deana,
I love your
dad I missed the Festival. Is it the same date every year?
Regina
Hi Regina,

Hello Deana,
I’ve
just finished your book “Memories Are Made Of This”
and I’m wondering if you can help me. I’ve requested
this information from another Dean Martin web site but never received
a response. My friend’s daughter is getting married in August
and since I’m a Dean Martin fan he asked me about a song
that he had heard Dean Martin sing similar to daddy’s little
girl about a daughter on her wedding day. He would like to use
this Dean Martin song in place of daddy’s little girl. I
told him I heard the song and have it in my collection but can't
locate it. My friend keeps nagging me about the song so I’m
hoping you could help me with the name of this song I would greatly
appreciate it.
Thanking you
in advance,
Steve
Deana;
I was wondering
if you could tell me how a man like your father can still make
a 9-year still sing his songs? My daughter and myself are the
biggest Dean Martin fans in Indiana and it amazes me how one
man can have that much impact on people in life. I kept it short
so hopefully you can e-mail back. God bless you and your father,
Dino.

Hi Deana & John,
It was so good
to see you again. Thanks for letting me sing for you. I’ve
been selected as a Miss Pre-teen Ohio finalist. I'll get to sing
a song for optional talent. I’m going ask if I can sing "that's
amore". Write sometime when you can. I loved hearing you
sing Deana. I hope you make a CD of Dean's songs. I'll be the
first in line to buy it.
Love,
Catherine Losey
Hi Catherine,
Congratulations
on being selected as a Miss Pre-teen Ohio finalist. Please
let us know the outcome. And some good news from me to you…I
am recording a new CD with many of my Father’s songs
and it will be released in March of this year.
