Deana,
I loved your
dad so much. One of my best memories of my own dad was when he
gathered us all on Thursday night to watch his Variety Show.
We would all laugh so much.
When I was a child I remember writing a letter to our mayor (of
Steubenville) to request having the highway named after Dean Martin.
My letter was printed in the newspaper and my dad was so proud
of me.
Hope to see you in June. I have a very special picture of you with
your brother from last year. Is there any way to send it to you
as an attachment?
Love,
Mary Alice Wise
Hello Mary Alice,
I would
love to see the picture and yes you can send it as an attachment
to this address or just give it to me at the festival. I look
forward to seeing you in June.
Deana
Hi Deana,
We still are missing you here at Mattina's in Kingman.
Last week I finished "The Book" for the second time. Loved it.
The first time through was kinda quick. There are some coincidences
in our lives. My only daughter was born within 6 months of your
Mickey, both of our mothers passed within two weeks of each other.
When I was much younger I used Faberge Woodhue. Thanks to you and
the book reminding me of Woodhue I have found some with prospects
of getting more soon. Get in touch if you want some. I’d
be happy to share with you.
Come see us
soon.
Bud, Mattina's Kingman
Hi Bud,
I look
forward to visiting you soon as time permits. My love to all
at Mattina’s.
Deana
Hi Deana,
First I wanted
to say that it was nice to read about your father and finding
out many things I didn’t know, and still come away feeling
good. I've recently stated receiving the DVD’s of the variety
series and I just love them…I also recently found that
I have an old 78 in which your dad sings "The Lady With
the Big Umbrella" I don’t think I've ever seen that
one on a c.d.
I did want to ask you one question. What was your favorite song
of your fathers?
Thank you,
James Hitchcock
Hi Deana,
My husband
is a BIG Dean fan. His birthday is coming up at the end of April
and we want to purchase a copy of the movie "Some Came Running" in
which he is fantastic. Any ideas where we can get it? I've been
looking for it and cannot find it.
Thank you so
much.
WE LOVED YOUR
BOOK.
Luann Vilasi
Hi Luann,
I agree,
my father is fabulous in “Some Came Running"
and I just love the movie. It is available on DVD and VHS at many
places online and you should be able to find it at your local video
store.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I just wanted
to tell you that I enjoyed your book very much. I grew up listening
to your father's records playing on the family stereo, and he
remains my favorite today.
Thanks for
telling your story.
Thomas Lett
Hi Deana,
I don't really
have a question, but wanted to tell Deana how much I enjoyed
her radio interview this morning April 19, 2005 at 10:00 A.M.
EST. on the Tom and Judy Midmorning show broadcast via WMST Mt.
Sterling, Ky. I am actually Judy's younger sister and Tom's sister-in-law.
They have a successful talk show in this small community. I could
tell that Tom would have loved to have been able to talk with
her for hours and I would have to agree. Not very often do we
get to come in direct contact with someone as famous as yourself
and also a relative of a legend. Your life must have been one
of utmost exhilaration growing up and still continues forward.
Thank you so very much for taking the time from your busy schedule
to inform us of the fantastic life you led and the greatness
of your father! I know everyone who was listening here must have
enjoyed it as much as I did.
Thanks so much!!!
Emily Cockrell
Dear Deana,
I am a big
fan and have been since I saw his variety show debut. I have
now collected the entire variety show, all volumes. What's missing,
however, is the Christmas show from 1967, which you appeared
on. That would be great for the holidays. The commercial for
the variety show series included the duet with Sinatra from that
show, but for whatever reason, the duet has not been included
in the set.
Gary Panittio
Dear Deana,

Franco
Ciao Franco,
"Memories
Are Made Of This" will hopefully be translated and available
in Italy by early next year.
Deana
Dear Deana:
I have been
a fan of your Dad's since I was around 8 years old and I am now
57. I had a friend who lived in Las Vegas who is also now deceased.
He sent me a package about 15 years ago and it contained an aviator
style navy blue jacket with a blue pile collar that came from
Orbach’s. The letter with it said my friend, Billy had
a friend who went out with Jeanne Martin's niece and needed a
jacket and she pulled this from the closet and said Dean wore
it in a movie. He never saw her after that and remained with
the jacket so Billy said give it to me I know who to send it
to!! I have tried to research and I think the jacket was worn
in the movie Airport. Can you find out anything for me on this
- maybe from Jeanne? I love the jacket and knowing your Dad wore
it even better. Thanks. Hope to meet you someday maybe at the
festival.
Sincerely,
Maryann Simmons
Dear Deana:
I just read
your book in 2 sittings. I enjoyed it. It surprised me. There
was much heartbreak as there was much enjoyment. My life was
similar. My dad, Angelo Palermo, (Italian American) was away
at work a lot (spray coating asbestos) and he lost a daughter
(my sister) in a tragedy (she drowned), four years before he
died. He died at age 51 of cancer. While I was reading your book,
on page 198 you stated 'Dad, inhaling deeply on his Kent cigarette…’ I
have an old ad about Kent cigarettes having asbestos filters.
Thirty-four (34) years after the death of my father, I put in
a claim against Johns-Manville, a large asbestos company. No
attorney would take the case but I did it on my own, and won.
I now have 6 more claims in against other asbestos companies.
I believe you have a case to sue for asbestos wrongful death.
There is no statue of limitation (discovery rule). I can help
you and I would like some assistance in how I can publish a book
about my case. Please respond. Really enjoyed your book. Our
family, including my father, loved your father.
Sincerely,
Gail Palermo Garner
Hello Deana,
My wife Mrs.
J. Harding has always been a Dean Martin fan and wondered if ‘Oceans
Eleven’ and ‘Robin And The Seven Hoods’ are
on DVD. She read his biography you wrote which was excellent.
Could you send me an email how much a photo of Dean Martin costs.
Thank you,
Mrs. Harding
Dear Mrs. Harding,
‘Oceans
11’ and ‘Robin And The 7 Hoods’ are both
available on DVD.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Just finished
reading ”Memories Are Made Of This" and thoroughly
enjoyed it; like many I loved your dad too and it's clear to
see that you're a wonderful human being too; most of all it was
a wonderful surprise that you included your grandmother's recipe
for pasta fagioli which I'm planning to make and who knows it
might become one of our favorite recipes too in this Polis/Canadian/Yugoslavian
home.
I only wish
you the very best and may God bless you and your family.
Mika Sidorkewicz
Deana,
I'm a regular
listener of "The Music of Your Life"
and last week enjoyed listening to your comments with Les Brown
Jr. (who genuinely loves Dean's music as I do). I thought I heard
where you will be appearing together in Branson, MO. Will you be
performing as well? If so, at what theater?
Thank you and
best wishes.
Don Moffo
(Former Ohio Valley native just south of Steubenville...hope to
make it to this years festival again)
Hello Don,
Yes,
I will be performing in Branson this coming fall with Les Brown
and his Band Of Renown and we will be appearing at Mickey Gilley’s
Theatre. Our show will also be touring the country at the end
of the season. I hope to see you in Steubenville this year.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I have been
trying to obtain a copy of the 'Roasts’ on DVD or VHS.I
am told they are not available in the UK or cannot be posted
from the USA. I know the systems are different but they can be
converted.
Are there any plans to make the 'Roasts' or the TV shows available
for your Dad's many fans in Europe?
Best wishes,
Des Hendrick
Hi Des,
I certainly
hope so.
Deana
Hi Deana.
I wanted to
let you know I'm 40 and just became a fan of Dean Martin's two
years ago. My husband and I were watching an old western on TV
and saw your dad singing and we both fell in love with his voice.
I just wanted to tell you since then we have bought his Christmas
CD (the only one we will listen to!) and two of his greatest
hits CD's, one for the house and one for the car. I also read
your book and really enjoyed it. I just wanted to let you know
we think your dad has the best voice and is the smoothest guy
there ever was! I guess it's never too late to become a Dean
Martin fan!
Sincerely,
Traci Davis
Dear Deana:
First I wanted
to let you know how much I loved your book. I remember watching
the Dean Martin show with my parents, and always looked forward
to the family show at Christmas.
I wanted to
ask about the music scholarship, what it entails, who can apply
and how do they apply.
My daughter
will be applying to college in the fall, probably as a musical
theatre major.
Thank you,
Joanne Beltramo
Hello Joanne,
Please
contact Rose Angelica at the following email address: rose@deanmartinsteubenville.com
for all scholarship information. I hope it works out for you
and all the best to you and your daughter.
Deana
Hi Deana!
We'll be coming
to the festival from Michigan but won't be able to make it to
the book signing at Kroger. Will you be signing books at the
auditorium on the 18th or at other times/places?
Thank you.
Raymond Danford
Hello Raymond,
We
will be having a book signing on Saturday June 18th at the
Festival, some time between 4:00 and 7:00 PM. Have a safe trip
and we will see you in Steubenville.
Deana
Dear Ms.
Martin,
Hello, My name
is Abby I am 15 years old and I am in love with your father.
I know that I am young and it sounds weird but I have a couple
of Dean's cd's and the Varity Hour tapes and some Martin and
Lewis tapes. I read the book that Ricci Martin wrote and I loved
it. I didn't get around to reading your book yet but I will.
I have two posters of your father on my wall. My friends make
fun of me a little for listening to him but I don't care. My
20-year-old brother loves Dean too. He got me into it. I thought
you would be interested to know that young people today still
love your father’s work. I would be very happy to hear
back from you.
Thank you so
much
Abby
Hi Abby,
Yes,
I am thrilled to hear that you and your brother love my father’s
music. Thanks to you and your generation his new CD ‘Dino
the Essential Dean Martin’ opened at number 28 on the
Billboard Charts against all new and current artists. Great
music and talent is timeless.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I just want
to thank you and your husband John, for your kindness and support
in getting my photos out into the world. Due to your coaching
I have just signed a stock picture contract with MPTV.
Thank you,
Tom Elliott
Hi Tom,
You
deserve it. Your photos are beautiful and Ron Avery and the
great folks at the Motion Picture Television Photo Archives
are the best. I can’t wait to see more.
Deana
Hi Deana,
How are you?
I'm writing from Chicago and I just want to let you know how
much I miss your dad--he was my idol--I'm a local entertainer
in Chicago--and I do a tribute to your dad in all my shows--he
was the best--I hope you get this E-mail-so till next time--remember--EVERY
BODY LOVE'S SOMEBODY---
Angelo
"Packy" Ciaravino--age-52
Married--29years--wife--MaryAnn
2 sons--John-22 and Anthony-16
p.s. if you’re
in Chicago--your always welcome at our home--my wife makes the
best Pasta.
Hi Angelo,
Thanks
for the invitation.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Can you please
tell me if any DVD or VHS is available on any of the few appearances
you dad made on the Ratpack reunion tour before he left the show.
I have seen clips but I have never seen it offered in its entirety-
if its not available, could it be one day? I would love to add
this historic show to my collection.
Thanks,
Chris
Deana,
You are in great shape and I was wondering if you could help me.
I have chronic back problems and surgery. I just quit smoking
after many years of off/on again smoking I have emphysema.
I am not over weight now but I have been craving peanut butter
everyday since I quit smoking. I'm afraid I'll gain weight.
I have many stomach problems and cannot eat a lot of things.
I want to be really active but the doctor's say just to walk.
Is this enough? If I try and watch my peanut butter portions do
you think I'll be okay?
Thanks,
Diane Kogok
You are beautiful
and I think you look like your dad who I love very much being
half Italian.
Hello Diane,
Congratulations!
I’m thrilled to hear you quit smoking. You should be
very proud. Follow your doctors recommendations, because walking
is great fun and extremely healthy. Start with small distances
and before you know it walking blocks will turn into miles.
As for the peanut butter, moderation is the key. Good luck.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I wanted to
thank you for writing the book and allowing everyone into your
life as you were growing up. Dean was a constant in our house.
We watched every movie and I learned how to dance with my father
standing on top of his feet to the Italian love songs album.
Needless to say I am still trying to find the album on cd, which
is very hard to do. But I learned doing the box step. I smile
when I hear songs like “Non Dementcar” and “Return
To Me,” which was my parent’s song when he was in
Korea. I am 38 years old and I can’t ever remember a time
when Dino wasn’t a part of our lives. I love going to restaurants
and hearing his music. There’s so much peace and love within
his voice that you can feel, and according to my parents he is
why I am here!!! I hope to be able to attend the festival in
Steubenville this year. I would love to be able to meet you and
have you sign my book. Hopefully bring my father who loves to
do Dean’s karaoke and he dose a very good job. Dean is
his hero, but it would be an honor to meet you so I can cry to
you, I love your dad too. Because I truly did and do. When I
found out when he passed away on Christmas Eve I cried. My heart
broke because we lost him. Not only because the world lost a
wonderful entertainer and man but also because you lost your
father. I know I wasn’t ever the same, yet my life was
truly enriched with his music and movies and his legacy continues
on even now. Dean Martin is timeless and will be for future generations....for
me one of my favorite movies was ‘Robin And The 7 Hoods.’
When he sang ‘Show me a man that loves his mother’...my
heart melts. I raised 2 boys. I can only hope they feel that way
about me. He touched so many people I know he had to sacrifice
so much and his family paid the price. It doesn’t seem enough
to just say thank you for sharing your dad, but I do think that
your father would be so very proud of you and the work you have
done.
God bless you
and your family.
May he send
angels to watch over you and protect you,
Karla Shaffer
Hi Karla,
Thank
you for your beautiful letter. I look forward to meeting you
and your father in Steubenville.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I read your
book and loved it. I only really became a dean Martin fan 2 years
ago, when I saw the variety show on DVD. He was just so cool.
I think some people are just born to be stars and your dad was
one of them. Even when he spoke into the camera it was so effortless.
Amazing person. I’m glad you’re keeping his memory
alive.
Sincerely,
Afrim Neziri
Hi Deana,
What a privilege
to actually communicate with the daughter of the man who still
is my idol (since 1956).
I thought I had all your dad's recordings, first on vinyl, then
CD, but on a TV commercial over here they play "How do you
like your eggs in the mornin’…", everybody is
singing it at my work. How can I buy a copy of this recording (with
Helen Connell)?
I'm traveling from UK to Vancouver, then Hawaii next week, I hope
to have a good mooch in the record stores for Dino DVDs. If you
come to the north west of England in July I will look forward to
meeting you and buying your book.
Mike Smith
Hello Deana,
My name is
mark! I Just loved Your Dad, And Wish I would have asked him
for an autograph photo of him when I had the chance. I loved
it when he and Jerry Lewis were working together. I grew up watching
them, they make me laugh and put a smile on my heart! I always
love his voice and just thought he was a wonderful man! I remember
you as well and thought you were very sweet and just thought
what a great family!
I was wondering if you could send me yours or his photo you could
sign it, both would be a dream, but what ever you could send to
a fan that loves you both so much would be a dream come true...
I thank you so much for your time and send you and your family
my best wishes.... :)
A Fan Forever;
Mark Southam
Hi Mark,
Thank
you very much and all the best.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Would like
to let you no how much I enjoyed your book. My childhood memories
are your dad singing in the background of our home. I am now
46 with 5 sons of my own who all love to listen to Dean, and
never get tired of it. I admire your dedication for keeping your
dad's memory alive. He will live on regardless, for generations
to come. I had a bit of trouble tracking the book down in Sydney
Australia. Will you ever be coming down to Sydney, and if so
I would really love to meet with you. Come and see Sydney it's
a beautiful place.
Best Wishes,
Kerrie Jonker
Hello Kerri,
We
are coming to Australia for a book signing tour. We have friends
in Sydney and the Gold Coast and look forward to visiting your
beautiful country. Keep checking my web site, as the dates
will be posted there as soon as we know. G’day.
Deana
Dear
Deana,
First I want
to thank you for writing your book. I just finished it and it
brought back so many memories for me of my own childhood. My
father may not have been a star in Hollywood, but he was a star
in the eyes of myself and the rest of my family. I also thank
you for momma Angela's recipe. I just made the Pasta Fagiole
exactly according to your instructions and it is fantastic. I
am going to bring some over to my father at the nursing home
so he can enjoy it also. I hope he enjoys it just as much as
your father did. My question to you is, when are you going to
be in New Jersey? I live about one mile from the PNC arts center
in Holmdel N.J. I heard you were on tour and I would love to
come and see you if you are going to be performing near here.
Take care and thanks again.
Sincerely,
Joseph C. Bucco Jr.
Hi Joseph,
I adore
this letter…it touched my heart. I will put the PNC
Arts Center on our list for the future.
Deana
Hi Deana:
A note of PRAISE
re: your “MEMORIES ARE MADE OF THIS”
book. Such a tribute to your special Dad. I certainly felt as though
I got to know him "up close and personal" through your
memories of him. What a great man we were privileged to have in
our midst. He will, NEVER, be replaced, but
shall continue to live in our hearts forever. BLESS YOU for taking
the time to share your beloved 'Dad"
with us. He would be proud!
Trudy J. Hoffman
Dear Deana,
First I would
like to say what a fantastic book! I am dyslexic and have never
completed a book and in fact have never wanted to but your book
is amazing thanks! I just wondered if you would ever be in England
signing or if I could purchase another book so that you could
sign it? Or if indeed you could send me your autograph?
Yours gratefully,
JulieAnna Lucia Cowgill
Dear JulieAnna,
I plan
to come to England this year on a book signing tour. I look
forward to meeting you then.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I have prided
myself on finding and reading everything I can get my hands on
regarding your Dad and the Rat Pack. So you can only imagine
how delighted I was to grab your book as quickly as it hit the
shelf here. Needless to say, it was a fast, incredible 'read',
but one I found myself returning to savor a number of times since.
It felt as if I was looking over your shoulder into your life
- and Dean's.
As a life-long fan of his, I found your book not only a must read
- but a must-reread.
Bravo and thank you for sharing such important, insightful memories
of the King of Cool!
Cheers,
Dennis Castiglione
Dear Deana,
I don't really
have a question. I want to let you know that I just finished
reading "Memories Are Made of This" and I thoroughly
enjoyed the book VERY MUCH. I have always been a fan of your
father's and I grew up watching Martin & Lewis; saw their
movies and had so many laughs. I have several records and they
bring back many good memories as I grew up in the 40's
& I was a teenager in the 50's. I live in SE Wisconsin with
my husband; we are both semi-retired & we enjoy a good life.
Sincerely,
Millie Tischendorf
Hi Deana,
This is a thank
you instead of a question.
My father Tony
met you at Amtrak 30th Street Station in Philadelphia back in
November 2004. He spoke to you about your hometown and my love
for you father. I just want to thank you for the book that you
signed to me-it was the sweetest thing that has ever happened
to me.
I have almost
finished the book and I am enjoying it very much. It is filled
with great details and is so well written.
I also wanted
to tell you that my father and I will be attending this years
Festival. This will be our first Dean Martin Festival and I am
so excited.
See you soon!
Thanks again
for you sweetness,
Tina
Philadelphia, PA
Dear Tina,
I look
forward to seeing you and your wonderful father at the Dean
Martin Festival in June.
Deana
Dear Deana,
No question. Just wanted to let you know I just finished your wonderful
book. I absolutely loved it. Although you did make we cry really
hard several times. I will cherish this book forever. Thank
you so much for writing it. I come from a long line of Dean
Martin fans, of course my parents, who taught me to love him
and Frank. My kids are grown and love him. And now my seven-year-old
granddaughter loves him. She and I always dance to ‘That's
Amore’!!! Good music goes on forever!!
Thanks again for the book, of one of my most beloved singers and
entertainers.
Thank you,
Sue Suane
Hi Deana,
Will your book
be out in audio book? My eyes are not good.
Thanks
Christine Palagonia
Dear Christine,
We
hope to have the audio version of “Memories Are Made
Of This” out by the end of the year.
Deana
Dear Deanna,
I was born
in Steubenville, Oh. in 1946. My mother knew your father Dean
because he would frequent the Big Wheel Restaurant where she
worked. I loved hearing her stories about him when I was a little
girl growing up. But there is one question I have always wanted
to ask someone from Dean's family that I had heard many times
over the years in Steubenville. I heard Dean had been married
to a lady from Steubenville and they had two children, a girl
and a boy and that his second wife Jeannie raised those children.
I was told this lady was supposed to be a schoolteacher in Steubenville
for several years, is there any truth to this? Also I wanted
to ask you if you met any of your dad’s cousin’s,
the De Luca's while visiting in Steubenville? I took care of
Domonic and Irma De Luca for a while and noticed the pictures
of your dad on their rec-room wall and asked if they were fans
and Dom said no, Dino was my 2nd cousin. I wish you much success
in your book Deana and hope I get meet you this year at the festival....God
Bless
One Huge Fan,
Auberta Long
Dear Deana,
Our club, Northern
Italian Social Club, is planning a bus-trip to the Dean Martin
Festival in Steubenville, Ohio and wondering if you will be conducting
a "book signing"
on Saturday June 18th? We are currently working out the itinerary.
Thank You
Cecelia M. Rodi
Hello Cecelia,
It's
very nice to hear that you will be attending the Dean Martin
Festival this year. I look forward to meeting all of you.
We

Best
Regards,
Deana
Dear Deana,
Loved your
book! It's stupendous.
You collect my Art! You acquired one of my oils on paper from the
Bobbie Greenfield Gallery many years ago.
Since then I have had many shows and even written a book, "Keep
Your Breasts! Preventing Breast Cancer the Natural Way."
I would love to meet you and show you my newest work.
I also have work at Takada Gallery, 251 Post Street in San Francisco,
Ca. I may do a show there next year.
Your book is so heartfelt. I really loved it.
Best Wishes,
Susan Moss
Dear Susan,
It’s
wonderful to hear from you. I am still collecting your art,
and I love it. I hope that your book helps millions of people.
I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Loved your
book and hope to meet you at the festival this year! It will
be my first but I'm really looking forward to it.
I've read everything I can about your incredible Dad, but have
yet to read which one his songs was his personal favorite? Also,
I haven't heard anything on Jeanne in recent years. Has she joined
your Dad or is she still doing ok?
Thanks a lot in advance. Hope you have a chance to write back.
Mary Wilson
Hello Mary,
My
mother Jeanne is doing fabulously and she is still as beautiful
as always.
Deana
Dear
Deana,
How many years are you going to continue the festival?
Thank you,
Kathryn
Hi Kathryn,
It
is my wish that the Dean Martin Festival will continue forever.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I love your
book and get sentimental when I read it. I think of the times
I watched the Dean Martin variety show as well as many of his
movies, and remember how much he made me smile. I was in my early
teens and always thought he had such genuineness about him. He
was not phony and he had such a boyish smile. I felt so relaxed
watching him. I'm glad that I got to see his last two shows.
I gave him a lap quilt that I made for him and he sent me an
autographed picture which I cherish. I want to tell you that
back in 1990 I bought some photographs in LA and one particular
one is an unretouched photo of your Dad with Shirley MacLain.
I have also over 70 albums one of which is an extra long play
45 called sunny Italy. If your serious about one day opening
a Dean martin museum, I would love to donate what I have. I want
to say that you and Ricci are doing your Dad proud. You look
great and are blessed to have such a nice and good-looking husband.
Does your son Mickey sing? What does he do? Please say hello
to your mom Jeanne for me. I would like to write to her if that’s
possible.
Thanks,
Fran
Dear Fran,
Yes
we are going to open a Dean Martin museum one day,and I feel
the sooner the better. I will keep you posted. And I am blessd,
to have such a handsome father, husband and son. Our son Mickey
works at Warner Bros. Studios and I will send your best wishes
to my mom Jeanne. Thank you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
My father sang your father's songs when I was a little girl. His
favorite was "Everybody Love Somebody Sometime".
Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 1997 at the young
age of 67. My sister bought a Dean Martin singing figurine
to serve as a focal point for Dad when he was first admitted
to the hospital in March '03. Dad is now in a nursing home.
He would point to the "singing Dean" and ask us to "play
him". Hearing "Dean sing" was one of the few
things that would make Dad laugh or smile. Dad would ask us
to play it so often that he had worn out two sets of batteries.
Well, someone stole the figurine out of my Dad's room and it’s
never to be found. Dad still points to the windowsill where
the singing Dean once stood and says, "He's gone".
We tried the internet and could not locate another "singing
figurine" and were wondering if you might know where we
could purchase one. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Respectfully,
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
With
the help of Dino Pallies and other Dean Martin fans, we will
find one for you.
Deana
Hi Deana,
No question,
necessarily, I just always loved your Dad - when I got my first
stereo in 1965 - his album ‘Everybody Loves Somebody’ was
my first album. I have almost all of his albums. I want to try
to come to the Festival this weekend, just learned about it.
Your Dad may be dead, but definitely not forgotten. I know today
is his birthday and my Aunt's b-day was June 17 also.
Norma
Hi Norma,
Happy
birthday to your Aunt…and just to clarify, my father’s
birthday was June 7th.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I heard at Steubenville that you are performing &
at Branson Missouri is this true? Where can I get a schedule of
where you will be performing so I can make arrangements to attend?
Thank you,
Tom
Hi Tom,
I have
played in Branson recently on several occasions and I am considering
an offer to perform there next year for the entire season.
I currently have two tours traveling the country, one for concerts
and the other for book signings. I will keep you informed by
posting the information on my web site.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Actually it is not a question, I just wanted to tell you how much
I enjoyed the Dean Martin Festival in Steubenville this past
weekend. It was my first, and it will not be last, you did
a great job. Please keep up the good work. I bought your book,
and am anxious to read it.
Norma
Dear Ms. Martin,
My name is Frank Pelli, I am 14 years old and ever since I could
remember I always had a fondness for your father's music and comedic
genius. I recently read your book, and I thought it gave the world
another view of your father. You have done great things for your
father and his vast legacy, and I hope you continue your great
work for him.
Your and your
Father's biggest fan,
Frank
Dear Frank,
You
are very sweet. Thank you for your kind words. You have quite
a vocabulary for a 14 year old. I am certain your parents are
very proud…I know I am.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Great book!! I read it in one sitting. I am a caricaturist and
I did a caricature of Martin and Lewis a couple of years ago. I
sent it to Jerry Lewis who was kind enough to sign it and send
it back to me. I would enclose the picture with this email but
I can’t send any attachments. If I were to send you the original
would you sign it?
It would be the closest thing to having Dean himself sign it. If
you agree with this I will send you a copy for yourself. Thank
you for considering this.
Yours Truly,
Ed
Hello Ed,
I would
love to see your caricature and would be happy to sign it for
you. Send away.
Deana
