Hello Deana,
I received your new CD “Memories Are Made Of This” for
my birthday and just had to write to you and say congratulations.
I absolutely love it. I was a huge fan of your fathers and now,
I’m your newest fan. I know your dad would be so proud of
you. Thank you for keeping this music alive. Have you ever thought
of doing a duet with your dad, like the one Natalie did with her
dad Nat King Cole? I think it would be a huge success.
God bless,
Barbara Danato
Hi Deana,
I just finished your book, and was so sad when I did so. I am
typically a fiction reader, but I tackled your biography because
I love, love, love your dad. Your telling was so open and honest,
now I can't imagine going back to plain 'ol fiction! I am
32 years old, but I would have loved to experience just one day
in the classy time of your dad's "old Hollywood" that
you described to a T. Today's celebrity scene just seems to pale
in comparison. Anyway, I did have one question for you... is there
any way to get a copy of the "Christmas with the Martins and
Sinatras" show? I would absolutely love to see it. Thanks
so much, and best of luck for you’re continued and deserved
success!
Julie
Hi Julie,
I’m sorry to say at this time the Dean Martin Christmas
Show is not available for sale.
Deana
Dear Deana,
We plan to attend the tribute to Dean Martin in 2007 and need
dates to book early and arrange vacation please forward 2007 dates.
Dawne Bozzato
Hi Dawne,
The dates for the 2007 Dean Martin Festival are June 14,
15, 16 & 17. I look forward to seeing you there.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I attended your in concert at Harrah’s in Atlantic City,
and was blown away. My wife and I loved your show and would like
to see you again. Will you be performing in Chicago any time soon?
Volare is one of my favorite all time songs and I was so happy
to hear you sing it…and in Italian. Your father would be
so proud. Keep on singing Deana, and we’ll keep coming.
Sincerely,
Tony & Joanna Rossi
Hi Tony & Joanna,
Yes, I will be performing in Chicago in June 2007. Please
check deanamartin.com, “Tours & Events” for
concert dates. I look forward to seeing you there.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I enjoy listening to you each morning on 1550 KKAD in Portland,
OR. I like to hear you talk about the musicians you knew personally.
I actually learned to love this kind of music later in my life.
I'm 49 currently. I really enjoy your songs that you sing, especially
with Jerry Lewis. I really hope to make it Branson some day. I
also hope I can catch you in concert sometime. Keep up the good
work.
Sincerely,
Randy Bruner, Vancouver, WA
Dearest Deana,
I saw you in concert with Davy Jones. I have been a huge Monkees
Fan my entire life and go to all the concerts when possible. I
just wanted to ask you when you will be doing another concert with
Davy because I have friends that missed it. I told them this concert
with you and Davy together was the best on I have ever been to.
Please do another one soon. You and Davy singing together was the
greatest. I remember the show where you and Davy fell in love.
It was one of my favorites. Actually it’s one of all Monkees
Fan’s favorites. Did you see the fan center letters after
your concert together? Everyone loved the show. You must do more!
Monkees forever,
Jackie Sullivan
Hi Jackie,
I really enjoyed performing with my dear friend Davy. And
yes, we are thinking of more shows together. I’m very
happy to hear you enjoyed the show.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I would like to get a video of the medleys of Dino and Sinatra,
especially the Christmas one, where he dances.
Someone should offer a DVD with those two doing these medleys together.
God bless Dino. I will always be amazed at his talent. There
will never be another like him.
Joe Dupont
Hi Joe,
I’m sorry to say it’s not available, but the
medley with Dad and Uncle Frank is truly a classic.
Deana
Hi Deana,
One of the most unforgettable songs ever was "Unforgettable" with
Natalie Cole and her father. Have you ever thought about doing
one electronically with your Dad -- maybe "Sway," which
was one of his best?
Lloyd "Scoop" Brown, (ret.)
Hi Scoop,
It’s a great idea and I’m all for it!
Deana
Hello Deana,
First of all, I love the new CD. You should be proud. I also,
loved your book. What a great read. I grew up going to the Kenley
Players in Warren, Ohio. I remember you appearing there. I have
fond memories of those autograph lines. Do you know if John Kenley
still alive? He must be 100 by now. If you know, please pass the
information along. Also, I hope you bring your act to Washington
DC. That would be terrific.
All the best,
Daryl
Hello Deana,
I just wanted to say that your father is the best singer and personality
I have ever known. His music is so beautifully sung. No matter
what mood I am in, just listening to Dean Martin cheers me up or
makes me happier! Nothing can compare to his voice with his perfect
delivery and tone. It must be great to be so close to the greatest
man the world has known.
An Adoring Fan.
Thomas Brady, 18
Tunbridge Wells, England, U.K
Hi Deana,
Wondering about the Dean Martin Festival in Steubenville - Can
you give me an itinerary of what will be there and local hotels
that are available. I'm planning to attend.
Barbara Devanna
Hi Barbara,
You can find the current schedule of events posted on my
web site deanamartin.com. Then simply click on “Dean
Martin Festival.” I hope to see you there!
Deana
Hi Deana,
My son, who is in the 4th grade, is doing a project on your dad.
His teacher is requiring he find out any training (acting or singing)
your dad might have had. I have looked everywhere and can't find
it. Did your dad have any training? Thank you for your help.
Michelle
Hi Michelle,
My father did not have any formal training. He was
blessed with a natural talent, the likes of which we will never
see again.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I love your father and I want you to know that young people love
him still. I know that you are making a movie on his life from
your book but we haven’t heard anything since. Do you know
when it will be done and who can really play your father? I am
looking forward to it.
Theresa
Hi Theresa,
The movie is in the works and we are currently working on
finding the perfect Dean Martin. Any suggestions?
Deana
Dear Deana,
Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoy your morning show
and the music. We love your dad's music and you are following his
footsteps. We listen to Music Of Your Life on 860 Am in Marion,
Indiana. The kids now are missing a lot of fine music and super
talent from my era, I enjoy the tidbits of information you give
on the artists on your show. I would like to hear something if
possible from Lenny Dee or Earl Grant, they are my favorite organists.
I met Lenny Dee in Florida several years ago at his club. Music
means so much to me as I am an organist at our church and also
involved with our choir. Thanks so much for keeping the Music Of
Your Life going, it is wonderful.
Wishing you the best,
Neva Boyce
Hi Deana,
I listen to your show every morning. I love your Dad's music and
you really know how to present a song just as he did. Keep up the
good work. I wish you would play more of the music of Renee Olstead.
She really is a talented young artist. I especially enjoy her duet
with Peter Cincote (don't know the correct spelling) of "Breaking
Up Is Hard To Do" and her rendition of "Taking a Chance
on Love". I think this girl has a great career ahead of her.
God Bless You,
Boyd Bennett
Dear Deana,
What can you tell me about the terrific “The Summit Concert” which
took place in Wheeling, IL. My entire family truly enjoys listening
to this CD and my question is, in your opinion do you think this
concert will ever be available on DVD? That would certainly be
a great DVD to own. Listen to you every day on Music of Your Life
and you have a great voice. Thanks in advance for any information
you can offer.
Judie Helffrich
Hi Judie,
“The Summit Concert” DVD is available on the “Live
and Swingin” of “The Ultimate Rat Pack Collection”. I
hope this helps you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. My parents inherited a house
on the Coast that had belonged to my great aunt and uncle. They
loved your dad and had all of his albums. We never missed The Dean
Martin Show at home or at my aunts. Now in our 50's my brother
and I still love your dad's music and my brother made me a tape
of all his favorites from my aunt's collection. When we returned
to the house after Hurricane Katrina we were broken hearted. When
I crawled through the window and looked down the hall all of the
albums were mixed with the mud and debris. That is when I began
to cry. Everyone ask us if the album collection was saved and I
heavy heartedly say "no". Funny thing though, I was cleaning
closets recently and found the tape that my brother had made me
and remembered telling him that I was going to put this in a safe
place and it will be our master copy in case something happens.
Well, somebody up there knew something that I didn't know so thankfully
I still have "Dean" to help me drive carpool. Dean Martin
represents a happy time in my life. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cory Mauldin
Hi Deana,
I have been waiting for the schedule for 2007. I would like to
see the festival in June but I have no specific dates. I would
like to make arrangements for 4 of us who, again, would like to
be there. Please email me these dates.
Thank you.
Frank Carnuccio
Hi Frank,
You can find the current schedule of events posted on my
web site deanamartin.com. Then simply click on “Dean
Martin Festival.” I hope to see you there!
Deana
Hello Deana,
My boyfriend and I attended you concert at the Paramount Theatre.
That was months ago and we are ready for another show. When will
you be back in the Big Apple? Do you have a news letter or a fan
magazine with your concert dates? If you do, sign us up at this
email address. You sold out here in New York so you know you have
a lot of fans here. So schedule another show here soon. We need
another Deana fix. We just loved your show.
Hope to see you again soon,
Donna & Mike Little
Hi Donna & Mike,
My schedule is posted on deanamartin.com. Just click on “Tours & Events.” And
yes, we are coming back to New York for a concert in the fall
of this year. As soon as the contract is signed the dates will
be posted on my web site. And thank you for your very sweet
letter.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I am such a big fan of your dad's. I live in Ohio. I have all
of Dean's albums but the Nashville Sessions one. I would so much
love to have his Nashville Sessions one. I have no idea where to
find it. II have tried so hard. It would mean so much to me. Oh
please can you help me? It is such a rare one and impossible to
find but I would love having it. It would complete my collection.
Of course I would much prefer it new, without scratches. I sure
hope to hear from you, please. Thanks so much.
Marilyn Rittinger
Hi Marilyn,
My suggestion is to try E-Bay or Amazon. Good luck!
Deana
Dear Deana,
I don't have a question or story but I just want to tell you to
keep referring to Frank, Sammy and the rest as your uncles! I think
it adds a lot to your show. Thank you.
John Knotts
Dear Deana,
I do singalongs with senior citizens that mostly consist of the
music that you play on Music of Your Life. I love to listen
to your recordings and the other wonderful music that you play.
I can play by ear and by note and my voice is usually loud and
close to on tune. The people around my age and older LOVE
these songs. I have advertised a lot for our station that
does your show. I listen on KTOP in Topeka. Merle
Blair, a former station manager and disk jockey was mostly responsible
for getting your programming on KTOP. I always listen weekday
mornings from 8:00 until 10:00 (sometimes earlier--other times
during the day too). I am a retired music and home economics
teacher so I don't have to get up early.
My husband, Tom, loves your music also. We both really enjoy
your Dad's music.
Our names are so similar that sometimes mine is pronounced like
yours. I was named after Deanna Durbin. I know who
you were named after. Keep up the good work!!!
Deanna Sponamore
Hi Deana,
It would be awesome to hear from a star such as you. I just saw
your Father's biography on TV and am ashamed to say that I didn't
realize he had such a beautiful daughter. I am 57 and grew up with
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. I realized tonight how much I miss
your Father. And then to hear your side of his life story brought
me to tears. I can identify with his need for privacy, I am that
way myself. I learned so much about your Father tonight- he was
a great entertainer that I truly miss. All the best to you and
yours, Deana. I'm looking forward to reading your new book. I'll
keep in touch!
Sincerely,
Tony
Hi Deana,
All my life (I'm female, 57) I've wondered why, or maybe how,
your father had SUCH a calm disposition?? Thank you!
C.B.
Hi C.B.,
He was simply born that way, cool and calm.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I listen to you every morning, as I'm getting ready for work.
The best way to start the day. This morning you played "Somewhere,
Out There". It's from the movie, "An American Tail".
One of my favorite movies.
Judith Mason
Dear Deana,
Can I buy your CDs in the UK? I love to hear you on Music Of Your
Life. It’s a great station.
Thanks,
Peter
Hi Peter,
You can purchase my CD online through iTunes or Amazon.com. Thank
you.
Deana
Dear Deana,
I've just finished your book, and thank you for inviting all the
world to share in the wonderful story of Dean Martin through his
daughter’s eyes. I'm currently putting together a tribute
show in your father’s name, and would love to invite you
to my small steel town of Hamilton Ontario Canada. My children
of 8 and 3 also adore your father’s music. If you have any
advice to share please do. I am also interested in the festival
and it's date. "Here’s to the stars in your eyes."
Emi
Hi Emi,
You can find the information about the Dean Martin Festival
by visiting my website at deanamartin.com, and simply clicking
on “Dean Martin Festival”. Hope to see you
there!
Deana
Hello Deana,
You must be so proud of your new CD, “Memories Are Made
Of This.” It’s now 39 weeks on the top ten charts.
WOW is that exciting. We play it in our home, our car and at our
office. We just love it. My favorites are “What If I Loved
You” and your duet with Jerry Lewis “Time After Time.” Who
knew he could sing like that. But the duet with you is absolutely
brilliant. There’s no stopping now. When is the next
CD due to be released? I know there is another one coming. I heard
you hinting about it on Entertainment Tonight. You said something
bout a new duet, but with who??? We’re ready, but please
make it soon. We will definitely be buyers.
Deana fans from the City,
Jenny, Phil, Susan and Dominik.
Hi Jenny, Phil, Susan and Dominik,
It’s very nice to hear from you. Yes I am very pleased
and excited that my new CD is receiving such sensational support.
And the duet with my Uncle Jerry was the highlight for me personally.
I love my Uncle Jerry and I always will. And the new CD will
be coming out in a couple of months and you will unfortunately
have to wait for my surprise guest. ‘Til then, best wishes,
Deana
Hi Deana,
Loved your book about your Father, especially after reading the
unfair pejoratives of biographers like Shawn Levy and the like.
For me, the essence of Dean Martin was when he sang solo on the
couch or by the piano on the set of his popular TV show. I remember
it well watching almost every week, and being moved by the intimacy
of it all and how revealing it was of Dean the man. The duets were
great too, but Dean really shined when he sang alone on that couch
and by the piano. I wish I could have seen him live in a small,
intimate setting like a nightclub. No Jerry to interrupt him and
no "Rat Pack" to do same. Just Dean by himself singing
a great pop standard to his appreciative audience who knew his
immense talent as it especially shined during these moments. I
will never forget it and it's sad TV is so different today with
nothing even remotely like it. My parents were born in 1915 and
that generation sadly will never ever be equaled in any way. I
greatly miss my parents every day I'm alive, and I miss your Father
too as they surely were irreplaceable by any future generations.
I'm afraid nothing like them will ever walk this Earth again. For
sure a unique time and place in our history.
Sincerely,
Michael Sheedy
Dear Deana,
Carol and I enjoy your morning show very much. Keep up the good
work.
Dick & Carol
Hi Deana,
Congratulations on your wonderful career and also congrats on
your book. I've been dropping hints with my family that your biography "Memories..." is
something that's been on my Wish List for a couple years; sooner
or later they should get the hint! :) I'm wondering, firstly, if
you were in Swingers, with Vince Vaughn. The opening credits feature
a live recording of "You're Nobody (Til Somebody Loves You)" and
credits "Deanna Martin" for a character she portrayed.
I was first amazed and excited that this "Deanna" was
you...though it's hard to tell...Was that you?
Eric Christensen
Hi Eric,
No, that was not me in the movie, “Swingers”,
but thanks for asking.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Just discovered your site and think it is great. I am 66 and have
been a Dino fan since I was a teen. My family, being Italian, here
in New Orleans, where there is a large Italian population, were
all Dino fans. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting your dad
at a Heart Association benefit here in New Orleans somewhere around
the early 70s. He was very warm and gracious and what a golfer.
One of the true highlights of my life. Our family had a mutual
friend with Dean, a New Orleanian who had gone to Vegas when gambling
was outlawed here in the 50s. To say he was my idol would
be an understatement. He was the greatest "entertainer" who
ever lived, bar none. Just wanted to say I loved your dad, a man’s
man. I still get melancholy watching him, or listening to him.
He was the "King of Cool".
God bless!
Ron Costa
Hi Deana,
I am wondering if there is a schedule of events on the 12th annual
Dean Martin Festival. Please advise. This is the first
I will be attending & am very excited about receiving all the
info on this wonderful event. Thank you very much for your
time & assistance.
Sincerely,
Pamela Mayo
Hi Pam,
You can find the current schedule of events for the 2007
Dean Martin Festival on my web site deanamartin.com and click
on “Dean Martin Festival” for the schedule and
dates.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Just to let you know your Dad was the Greatest! But one question.
Why isn't there DVDS out with your father performing in Concert?
Especially Las Vegas not the Rat pack concerts just him. Or the
Concert he had in England in the 1980's that I have seen. Thanks
so much!
Nick
Hi Nick,
That’s a good question and I wish there were DVD’s
available because he was an unbelievable entertainer and his
talent should never be forgotten. Hopefully someday.
Deana
Hi Deana,
Listen to your radio show on Sat. @ Sun. in New Smyrna Beach FL.
Love it. Especially when you say this is a song by my dad or Uncle
Frank. Was lucky enough to see them both perform. The Greatest.
Can you tell me if you will be performing in NY or Fl. in 2007
or near by. Keep singing. Thanks and may God Bless.
Frank
Hi Frank,
I am currently working on a new tour schedule. The
month of May and June, I am performing in concert with Les
Brown and his Band of Renown in Branson, Missouri. As
other concerts are scheduled, they will be posted on my website www.deanamartin.com under “Tours
and Events”. Hope to see you at one of the shows.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I just heard you on XM radio and I just loved the song they played.
So I call up and ask who this Deana Martin is and I took a wild
guess (cause I think I'm smart) and lo-and behold the daughter
of Dean Martin... well I loved your dad's music and I' glad to
say I love yours too! I am going to order your album (CD) today
and If ever I get the chance to see you perform in person, I will
be there...you know it would be great if you could do a couple
of shows in San Francisco (Bimbo's, Top Of The Mark, etc.) I think
I met you and your husband in Palm Springs at the Street Fair they
have and you signed my book!! What a great voice. Hope to see you
soon. A new Fan.
Gene Davenport
Hi Deana,
I have been a fan of your father's since I was a very little girl.
My parents took me along every week when they went to the movies
where I first saw Martin & Lewis. My father who was born in
Italy had many prejudices to over come when he came to America
as a small child. I think that your father was a strong factor
in bringing out the fact that Italians were good and talented and
funny, good parents who cared about their families like regular
people. Helping to dispel some of the prejudices. Any way, I am
going to buy both your CD and the book, but I wondered if the book
was available in audio/CD form? My mother would really enjoy listening
to it. She cannot read anymore due to macular degeneration (a problem
that takes away vision) and I know she would like the book. We
have been buying her CDs or tapes in book form so that she can
continue her "reading". I would like to know if I could
get your book on CD for her. Thank you for the enjoyment you bring
into my house with your radio show on KDYL in Salt Lake City.
Sincerely,
Caroline Gallucci Throckmorton
Hi Caroline,
Thank you for your letter. It’s great to hear
you enjoy the radio show and that you’re going to get
my book and CD. I’m happy to tell you we
are currently working on the audio version of my book. As
soon as it is available, I will post that information on deanamartin.com. Thank
you again.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I heard you talking this morning about how Dean and Elvis were
friends and both worked at Paramount studios. Well, being
that they both worked for Hal Wallis I thought you might be interested
in the fact that Wallis took the script from Dean & Jerry's
3 Ring Circus...made a few changes...cut out Jerry's part...and
gave Elvis your Dad's role and renamed the movie Roustabout. If
you watch both movies you will see
certain scenes done almost exactly the same. Wallis did not
like to spend money (as far as I've read). He wrote a book
called “Starmaker” about 20 years ago. I just thought
you'd like a little tidbit from yesteryear.
Luv,
Jimmy
Hi Deana,
Heard your version of your Dad's Amore, this morning. It was my
first time to hear your clear voice, in song. Great job.
Marv Larson
Dear Deana,
I feel as if I know. We listen to your radio show each weekday,
and really love the music you play. I also love your book. Such
an honest account of your life. We also own two of your CDs. One
for the house and one for the car.
Love,
Betty Lehr
Dear Deana,
Wow! Cara mia Deana you are some kinda chip off the old block
of papa Dino...He'd be so very proud! Will you ever be doing any
shows out here in Northern California or in Las Vegas? Are there
any DVD's available of any of your performances? Deana...join the
crowd and do a "standards album"...you'd top them all!
Ciao...con amore...mille abbraccio.
Louis Casolari
Ciao Louis,
Thank you for you nice letter. Yes we will be in Northern
California, and in Vegas, either at the end of 2007 or the
beginning of 2008. We are finalizing the fall schedule now. The
month of May and June, I am performing in concert in Branson,
Missouri with Les Brown and his Band of Renown. As other
concerts are scheduled, they will be posted on my website www.deanamartin.com and
check by clicking on “Tours and Events”.
Bon Giorno
Deana
Hi Deana,
I some times can't help but miss seeing your dad on TV, the movies...
Thank you so much for your thoughts in "Memories are made
of This. When and where is the 2007 Dean Martin Festival? Thank
you so much.
Rance Bueckert
Hi Rance,
You can find the current schedule of events for the 2007
Dean Martin Festival posted on my website at deanamartin.com
and then click on Dean Martin Festival. I hope to see you there.
Deana
Hello Deana,
I just read your wonderful book. Thank you for writing it.
Feb. 10th is a very special anniversary date. You're carried here
on KTOP and it would mean more than I can tell you, if you would
play Doris Day's "I'll Never Stop Loving You" for the
man who is, and will always be, the wind beneath my wings.
Bless you, precious Deana.
Marjorie
Hi Deana,
I had the pleasure of playing golf with your dad at Riviera Country
Club years ago. I was always a big fan but seeing what a fine gentleman
he was made a good day great. I will always treasure our meeting
and cherish that day.
Your friend,
Greg Fetter
Hi Greg,
Thank you for sharing your golfing story about my Father.
It’s moments like this that make it all worth while.
Greg, now you’ve made my good day, great.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Who was the woman who sang with Dean Martin on “How Do You
Like Your Eggs in the Morning”?
Phil
Hi Phil,
That was Helen O’Connell.
Deana
Hi Deana,
I enjoy your show. I am a long time KIXI listener.
History: We lived across the street from Rancho Park Golf
course (greens at regular 18th hole, tournament 9th hole) and watched
lots of regular, tournament and celebrity golf played there. One
day, your father was part of a foursome on the putting green. As
Dean was about to putt, some young girls passing by screamed
out in a sing-songy way, "Deee-an". He majestically
(and in humorous and very good natured way) replied in a similar
sing-songy way) replied, "Wha-at"? as he threw his putter
in the air (not in anger but in mock annoyance). The (small)
crowd watching laughed and applauded your father's good grace. In
similar circumstances, I have seen other celebrities (and a few
with very undeserved good press) come completely unglued.
You sound like a very sweet lady.
Marsha and Art
Hi Marsha & Art,
Thank you for your letter and thank you for sharing such
a great story. I loved it!
Deana
Dear Deana,
I have been listening to you on WCHA 800 radio. I really enjoy
listening to you.
God Bless you,
Larry Highlands
Hello Deana,
I love your records and radio show. I thought if all the singing
children of ''THE RAT PACK'' could launch a recording and title
it, ''The Mouse Bunch'' Keep up the wonder you create.
Don Edwing
Hi Deana,
I have just finished reading “Memories are Made of This”,
today and I found it very interesting. I laughed and I cried. I’m
42yrs old and have always been a fan of your Dad's. I’m living
in Dublin Ireland with my husband Brian and three children. My
Dad also is a big fan. He played all the records while I was growing
up and still does. He sounds like him when he sings and is known
as Deano in the club he goes too. All the men and women in the
club are big fans too. I’ve got a son called Dean, named
after your Dad. My husband Brian is very happy to have completed
reading your book, because he has only ever read one book complete
before. He couldn’t put yours down. My three year old
Kellie loves him too. She puts on the CD when she goes to visit
my Dad and they duet together. We were on holiday in California
last summer and she put her hands and feet in your Dad's imprints
in Hollywood. We also drove by his old house. We played his CD's
and sang all the time we were driving. After reading your story
I decided to check your webpage out and its great and we listened
to you singing all the songs. You had a hard but exciting life
so far and fair play to you for keeping your Father's memories
alive. He will always be in our hearts and home. Take care of yourself
and your family.
Regards,
Terri Madden
Hi Deana,
Growing up in Australia in the 60s and with a name like Dino,
my namesake, your dad, was an idol. My specialty at family gatherings
however was to do Jerry Lewis impersonations to the point I got
the nick name Jerry (which I haven't lost). Well many years have
passed and I have three children of my own and I watched like many
without too much interest the sad passing of the years and I now
look back and compare my own childhood to todays. I'd almost
forgotten many of these early influences on my life, my sense of
humour, my sense of respect, my place in the world, the simplicity
of our time, until I bought a rat pack DVD and literally cried
over a biography piece on your father. I too have Italian influences
in my life, which I can identify with in your fathers life despite
our age difference. The memories of his life in entertainment and
my life during that time blended to fill me with a sadness that
I couldn't understand. At the same time I am filled with warmth
and comfort at these memories to the point now I have been inspired
to collect as much of Dean Martin's work that I can. I hope to
complete a full collection of his movies and songs if nothing else
to have my children at least view and listen to it at least once
and perhaps theirs. Even in Australia the legacy that your fathers
entertainment and celebrity created is still alive at least in
our home. I had no idea you were performing and only came across
this site while researching. I hope that one day you will be able
to come to Australia so that we can see your show. If not I can
only wish that one day to come to the US and catch it there. It
would be true to say I have only come to appreciate your father’s
brilliance recently. I really only hope that he through you can
continue to shine it on the world. With deepest warmest regards
and respect, many thanks.

Hey Deana,
Just started listening to your radio show. It’s awesome!
I’m 48 yrs old and have been a fan of your dad for as long
as I can remember. Growing up in my NJ home, there were 2 things
I could always count on. The smell of Italian cooking and the music
of Dean Martin. I also loved all the Martin and Lewis movies. I
recently read the book Dean and Me by Jerry Lewis. Jerry tells
a story about how your Dad wore a cologne called Woodhue and how
great he smelled all the time. I mentioned that story to my wife
and she gave it to me for Christmas. So now every morning I slap
on some Woodhue and feel like Dean Martin all day!! Thanks, and
take care.
