Dear
Deana,
Thank you so
much for signing my book here in Miami, Fl. The picture came
out great! Thanks for everything, Deana, you're everything I
thought you'd be. Your book was wonderful!
Love,
Al
Dear Deana,
I live in the
South of France, so near to Italy, soft country of the love song
where your father is the ambassador.
I am 54 years old, I cross France for my job, and one moment you
become the partner of Dean throughout the road. This voice it's
the desire for living!
My question: is what your book was translated into French?
Thank you
J. Robert
Hi J. Robert,
What
a fabulous letter. We are currently in negotiations for my
book to be published in French.
Deana
Dear Deana:
I just finished
reading your wonderful book and truly enjoyed every page.
Growing up
in an Italian family your dad's music was always playing and
whenever I hear him sing it brings me back to those days growing
up. I also play his CD's all them time and my own teenage daughters
enjoy his music as well.
You seem to
have a close relationship with your brothers and sisters, were
they supportive during the writing of your book?
Also, my husband,
my father, my sister and I went to the Dean Martin Festival in
Steubenville this year for the first time and truly enjoyed ourselves.
It was great hearing the stories told by you and Dennis farina
and it was a wonderful tribute to your father.
Teri Smith
Hi Deana,
Great book!!!!
Any chance that you will come to
Providence, R.I. for a book signing?
Walter
Hi Walter,
Absolutely.
What’s your favorite book store in Providence?
Deana
Dear Deana,
Not a question,
just wanted to let you know I was there at the Dean Martin festival
in Steubenville June 2005, bought your book, you signed it and
I just finished reading it. It was great, truly enjoyed it. I
have bought in the past supposed bios of your dad, but was disappointed
they mostly talked about people he knew not about the man. I
loved your book and cried when the sad events were described
and was happy for you for the triumphs. Your dad was the greatest
and thank you for keeping his memory alive and introducing him
to those who never got to enjoy him. Keep up the good work. See
you in Steubenville next June.
Norma Ruck
Hi Norma,
Thank
you for our kind words. I look forward to seeing you in June.
Deana
Dear Deana,
First of all
just read your book -got thru it in record time- I can only repeat
what others have said, sad and funny, but most of all such a
personal touch that at times I felt like I was re-living your
close personal memories with the incomparable Dino. You have
to be taken aback at times at just how much your dad was loved
by his fans and friends- a quick question, my son Danny, insists
years ago he saw your dad on an advertisement that said he was
going to be on "the Muppets Show" I was not aware of
him ever doing that show- please verify if he did and if so -
is his appearance available on DVD. Thanks again for the wonderful
warm feelings that filled my heart and even the tear or two that
fluffed my eye reading about my favorite entertainer of all time-
your beloved dad.
Thank you,
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thank
you for your kind thoughts. I am not aware of my father ever
being on The Muppets Show. It would have been a fabulous idea
and I am certain he would have enjoyed it greatly.
Deana
HI Deana,
I know that
the odds are against me in getting a response from you. At least
it doesn’t hurt to try. I’m a great admirer of your
father. Over the years I have been disappointed that there aren't
many photo books about your father. Yes! There are many photo
books about Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, which I do have
them, but why not your father? I’d like to have an opportunity
to produce a book, but I didn't know who and where I should contact.
Certainly I’d like to have his family's approval and their
helps. It would be a great honored to do this for your father,
his family and his fans.
Thank you!
God bless you.
Ron
Hi Ron,
Thanks
for your inquiry and you will be happy to know that we are
currently working on a coffee table book filled with wonderful
photos of my father.
Deana
HI Deana,
First, let
me tell you I’m a great fan of your father. I have quite
a few of his CD's and love singing along. I have quite a collection
of Martin and Lewis videos as well as the best of the Dean Martin
variety show on vhs.
My question
is, on the ‘Dino: The Essential Dean Martin’
CD there is the song, 'I’d cry like a baby'. Do you know
if this song was ever put out on sheet music? I’ve looked
on eBay and other such places, but have never seen it.
Thanks for
writing your book and giving us a glimpse of your family's private
world.
The lord's
blessings to you and your family,
Michael
Hi Michael,
I have
never seen it in a sheet music format. That being said, if
anyone has information, please send me an email and I will
post it here.
Deana
Deana,
I get to listen
to you all on Casino 93 in Missouri. My mother-in-law loves to
come visit us so she can listen to this station - I know there
must be a station near her that carries you as well as the other
great shows on Casino 93. She lives in Kingfisher OK - if you
are on any Oklahoma city or maybe Tulsa stations, she might be
able to get you - are you on in Oklahoma?
Terry
Hi Terry,
I am
happy to hear that your Mother loves my radio show on “Music
Of Your Life.” It’s a nationally syndicated show
and a list of radio stations can be found on the internet at:
musicofyourlife.com. If she cannot find a radio station near
her, she can always listen on line via the internet.
Deana
HI Deana,
Would you know
anybody who might be interested in buying Dean’s 1972
Jaguar?
Thanks,
Mic
Dear Deana,
I very much
enjoyed your book as I'm a big fan of Deans music & films,
and was most surprised to read that you studied at Dartington,
I work for Devon Life Magazine and we are based in Totnes!! If
you wish we could forward you a copy? It would also make an interesting
story for our magazine.
Best wishes,
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
I would
love to have a copy of Devon Life Magazine.
Deana
Hello Deana,
Loved Dean
have most of his records I am such a fan I have set up a Dean
Martin forum.
Mike
Dear Deana,
I just finished
reading Ricci's book and at the end he was thanking different
people who had passed on and he mentioned Claudia. He said I
love and miss you. Was this your sister Claudia or someone else?
Thanks,
Marsha
Hi Marsha,
Yes,
that was our beautiful sister Claudia.
Deana
Dear Deana,
Sorry I missed
you in Miami. My brother Jay was quite impressed by your presentation
and your style. He also commented on what a great guy John is.
Barbara tells me that you were in Philadelphia. I’m sorry
I missed that one as well. I had some questions for you about
Betty. I wanted you to know that my mother Mary worshipped your
dad. I have never heard her speak of anyone with such unbridled
reverence. She had his photograph next to her at her deathbed.
She remembered him for his kindness, and for the way he treated
others. She said he had a way of making everyone around him feel
important. I have a photo of him (8 by 10) that was apparently
taken in Morton, PA in the backyard of my great
Grandmother's house.
Love,
Pete
HI Deana,
I am the publicity
manager for two authors who have just finished a new book entitled,
Steubenville. It features the church, mural, historical sign
and the 1940 city directory of your father's since he's a native
of Steubenville. Could I send you a copy of the book? It is new
in our images of America series and is a pictorial history of
Steubenville. Thanks for your time!
Regards,
Adie Lee
Hi Adie Lee,
I would
love a copy of your book. Thank you.
Deana
Hello there
Deana,
It was a pleasure
to meet you on the plane and hangout with you in the airport
too. You are a beautiful woman with a warm heart. I look forward
to chatting with you about my cookbook. Have you tried the "Southwestern
Flair Seasoning" yet? What do you think? I'll wait to hear
from you and tell you all about the BBQ competition in Memphis.
Best regards,
Gregory
Aka Ghef Gregory
Hi Gregory,
The
"Southwestern Flair Seasoning" was great. How did you
do in the competition?
Deana
Deana,
How many marriages
and children, did Dean have?
Phyllis
Hi Phyllis,
It’s
all in my book, “Memories Are Made Of This.”
