Memories Are Made of This - The Album

Memories Are Made of This - The Book

April 2006

Hi Deana,

Congratulations! I love your new CD, “Memories Are Made Of This”. I know your Dad is very proud of you. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Teri & Jack Nicholas

Hi Deana,

I am happy to say that we just saw you on Entertainment Tonight. We have been listening to your radio show on Music of your Life on WAKE 1500 for about a year and always wondered what you look like. You are just a beautiful and poised as we imagined. You sounded so much like your father Dean tonight and we look forward to hearing more of your singing. Hopefully they will be playing it on the radio. The show was a real pleasure and you are definitely your father’s daughter.

God bless you,
Dorthy and Tom Janson

Hello Deana,

I enjoyed seeing you on the CBS Sunday Morning show. I especially enjoyed the part where you were singing. I ran out today and bought your new CD and my wife and I love it. You have a beautiful voice and we love all the songs. My wife and I have been life long fans of your fathers, and now we are your fans. We are very excited to attend the Dean Martin Festival in Steubenville, Ohio next year. Can you tell us what the dates will be?

Warmest wishes,
Anthony Hughes

Hi Deana,

Just wanted to compliment you on your heartfelt performance on this year’s Jerry Lewis telethon. It was, for me, the most touching performance of all the professional entertainers. By the way, here in the Philadelphia market, Sid Mark on his Sunday With Sinatra show has given you glowing endorsements and has indeed played your "TIME AFTER TIME" DUET WITH JERRY LEWIS two weeks in a row. So, the Philly market and Sinatra aficionados are hearing for themselves that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as far as talent goes with DEAN & FRANK, AS with you & FRANK, JR. whom he also features.

Continued success & Best Wishes,
Eddie Greth

Hi Deana,

After seeing Bill Geist's visit to the festival on CBS this morning, we would like to visit the festival.  What are the dates for the 2007 festival?

Thanks,
Jane Martell

Dear Deana:

Just got your CD and I simply adore your voice... Please never stop singing your dad's music.... You do it sooooooo well :)

Luvin Hugz,
Joe Greenwich

Dear Joe:

I won’t stop singing his songs. Thank you,

Deana

Dear Deana:

I just bought your CD "Memories are Made of This" AND your book of the same title. I cried through both. You tell your story brilliantly and, as a fan of the Rat Pack and a fan of your Dad, Frank, and Jerry Lewis, I can't read enough about them. And funny thing is, I'm really not of that generation. My dad brought me up on that music and it is a staple in my home. Anyway, I just wanted to share my thoughts and please carry on. Dean's legacy will live on.

Irene

Hello Deana,

I’m wondering how I can get your autograph??

Best regards,
Dennis

Dear Dennis:

Hi Deana,

No question, just love all Dino's songs.  My dad met Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis in the forties or fifties and I have a picture of them together!  And wrote your Dad in the late 70's when I was a senior in college.  He sent me a great autographed picture, still have it!   Love all his variety show DVDs too.  Boy he was great!

David Liss

Hi Deana!

I heard you tonight on the Wiseguys show on Sirius radio and really enjoyed it, especially your stories. It was hard keeping up with the conversation with those knuckleheads since they all seemed so pleased to have you as a guest and as usual, would all talk at once! Please visit the show again and good luck with the new CD.

Ciao,
Paul Kraemer

Hi Deana,

I just got your new CD. I LOVE the song you did with Jerry. It gave me goose bumps. Thank you.

A new fan,
Randy Hauck

Hi Deana,

Any plans of performing in Canada? Any thoughts of a duet with your dad, like Nat King Cole and Natalie?

Thanks,
Carl

Dear Carl,

We are working on a Canadian tour and I will post it on my web site as soon as we ink the deal. Thank you for asking.

Deana

Hi Deana,

Just had to shoot you a quick email and tell you how much I enjoyed your new CD. My favorite song is "An Evening in Roma". Great arrangement. Also, loved you book. Also, I grew up attending the Kenley Players in Warren, Ohio. I remember you appearing there. I understand John Kenley is still alive. He must be over 100 by now. Do you know what he is up to these days?

Best of luck in all you do,
Daryl

Dear Daryl,

It’s nice to hear from you. I remember performing in Warren, Ohio and it was a wonderful experience. The people were very kind. I’m glad you’re enjoying my new CD.  As for John Kenley, I’m not sure what he’s up to.

Deana

Hello Deana,

In 1972, three of us were walking down the first fairway of the golf course at the Riviera Hotel. Some guy yells to us "need a fourth?" It was your dad and he rode with me. He was a very good golfer but I beat him by two strokes that day. He carried a bottle of Ballentine Scotch in his bag and we shared it; afterwards we had drinks in the bar and he introduced us all as his good friends. At the end, he took an ashtray and signed the back for me! He was a great guy, very fun and the two of us being ole Italian boys, had a great time!

Fondly,
Mike Tarzia

Dear Mike:

What a wonderful story. I am happy to hear you had a wonderful time with my Dad. That is truly the way he was, always fun to be with.  I am surprised to hear about the Ballentin’s though, as his favorite Scotch was J&B. Thank you for sharing your excellent story…two strokes you say?

Deana

Deana,

I listen to you and Les every morning on my way to work. This morning I heard a song that I would like to get a single of as I thought it was very funny and as Les put it, "a sign of the times". You did not seem very pleased about the song, and I apologize if my asking for the song information offends you, but I could not find any contact information for Les, as I would not want to offend you. The song was about offering "advice" to wives. Doing your hair in the morning before your husband leaves for work, greeting him with open arms when he returns, etc. I think it would be a fun song to tease my wife with. So please if you could send me the song information I would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Clyde Watson
Merrimack, NH

Hi Clyde,

I was only joking...I'm just a little offended. It's a great song titled 'Wives And Lovers' by a good friend Jack Jones. I'm happy to hear you listen to our show and thank you for your email. I would like to read this on the air, if that's OK with you. It's very cute.

Deana

Hello Deana,

I would like to hear a song with you and your dad Dean singing together, (like Natalie Cole did with her dad Nat) Do you have a recording of both you and your dad singing together? I really enjoy your morning radio show with Les Brown, Jr. I love the music on music of your life. I listen to station KVIN in Modesto, Calif.

Keep up the wonderful memories of music,
Mary Buckman

Dear Mary,

I sing a duet with my Dad in my show.  It’s “Welcome to My World”. I hope you have the opportunity to see it one day.

Deana

Deana,

WOW! No questions, just WOW. I listen to you each morning on The Music of Your Life. Today I decided to put a face with the voice. WOW! Your father was and still is one of my favorite singers. God bless and good luck in your career. I guess I do have a question. Will you ever be in the Vancouver, WA area? (across from Portland OR)

Robert

Dear Robert,

Thank you and the WOW is greatly appreciated. I love Vancouver and I am planning a tour for either the end of this year or the beginning of next year. I’ll post the dates on my website as soon as they are finalized.

Deana

Dear Deana & John,

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy to hear your CD is no. 5. You must be walking on air!  Thanks for sharing.  I will tell everyone. Way to go girl!!!!  I'm singing this weekend for a county fair in West Virginia this Sat. & Sun.  Right after I sing "That's Amore'" (I always sing "That's Amore'"), I will tell everyone that your CD has already made it to No. 5. I'm looking forward to hearing you sing again next year even though it is months away. I hope you'll treat everyone to another wonderful concert next June. Bye for now.

Love,
Catherine Ann Losey

ps -- We're thrilled for you too!!!!

Love,
Patti & John Losey

Hi Catherine,

I love to hear you sing too. As a matter of fact, I have asked your parents Patti & John if you would like to join me on some shows. What do you think?

Deana

Hi Deana,

I do have a question, but I have to say this first. The way our brains work, amazes me all the time. I was driving home yesterday, listening to KIXI AM 880 (with The Music of Your Life format) where they had just played one of the tunes off your new album (by the by I love the new album). I then switched over to the oldies KBSG 97.3 FM (all here in Seattle). And they were playing a Monkees tune. Moments later, a memory popped in to my head (why I don't know), [that is where that whole brain working, without you even thinking about it - know what I mean?]. Anyway, If my (old brain is working correctly), Am I remembering you on an episode of The Monkees? I think the second season of their show. My God if I'm wrong, please don't think I'm a freak! But I remember it was a show about a band contest - that had to be a mixed group (boys & girls). Was that you?

Gary Hoskins Producer CBS Radio Seattle, WA.

Hi Gary,

Yes, I am happy to report that your brain is working perfectly. It was season 2 and the episode was called ‘Some Like It Lukewarm’. I enjoyed working with Davy and we have been life long friends. I am very impressed that you remembered and I’m very happy to hear that you love my new album.

Deana

Deana,

My apologies, I should have looked at your "Stage & Screen" section of your website first. But it is good to know my brain still works. The brain, it is an amazing thing. Anyway, I'm listening too you and Les in the mornings, keep it up and all the best.

PS. At age 15, I was a huge fan of your dads and still am.

Later,
Gary Hoskins Producer CBS Radio Seattle, WA.

Dear Deana,

My name is Dave Barrett I just wanted to say how much I thought your dad's music rocked as I like to put it I became a fan thru one of my closest friends Chris. Also I wanted to say I have your book. In fact Regis himself autographed it for me. I just wanted to say that Deana, and how much I love your dad's music. Hope to hear from you shortly.

Dave Barrett

Dear Dave,

I agree, Dad’s music rocks. Enjoy the book and please let me know your thoughts.

Deana

Hi Deana,

I was and still am a fan of your father.  He was great.  My question is I listen to Kstar 1000 A.M and I heard you and Jerry Lewis sing a song.  Do you have a CD out with that duet together?  I have tried to find you under your name but it always goes to your dads CD.  I love your singing and would like a CD.

Margie Gilbrath

Dear Margie,

Yes, I have a new CD, “Memories Are Made Of This”, that was just recently released and I am very proud to say that it has been on the top 10 Charts for 9 weeks. I was very honored to record the duet ‘Time After Time’ with Jerry Lewis. As Jerry said on the MDA Telethon this year, “It was Martin and Lewis together again.” It doesn’t get much better than that! The CD is available at record stores everywhere or on my website.

Deana

Dear Deana,

I thoroughly enjoy hearing you and Les Brown daily on WMYF (1380) out of Portsmouth NH. I'm in East Kingston, NH. Now I have the privilege of listening to you 7 days a week. I am currently reading a Mary Martin bio and thought that none of her music along with such people as Mario Lanza, Howard Keel, Ezio Pinza is being played. Is there anyway to you can come up with the music of people like these? Keep up the great work you two.

Joan Richardi

Dear Joan,

It’s very nice to hear that you enjoy our show and I am happy to pass your request on to the programmers at Music Of Your Life. Thank you for your suggestions.

Deana

Hi Deana,

We loved you and Jerry Lewis singing together on the Telethon. He was right, for me it was Martin and Lewis together again. It made all of us cry. What a beautiful song. Wouldn’t it be great if you were to record that? It would be a smash hit. You are a very beautiful lady and we thank you.

Brenda DiMorro

Dear Brenda,

I am happy to say that Jerry and I did record the duet we sang on the MDA Telethon. It is titled “Time After Time” and you can find it on my new CD “Memories Are Made of This”.

Deana

Hi Deana,

I hardly miss a day of your radio show with Les Brown. Its great Stuff, and my garden thinks so too! During the growing season I have a radio going 24 hrs every day. Before I found You I had tried other stations, and the results were not good. Now I stick with 1380 on the dial, and we are all happy. It's great music to work by.

Thanks,
Bill Voye

Hi Bill,

I am happy to hear that you and your garden enjoy our show. We have a lot of fun bringing you this fabulous music. Thanks for listening…you too Bill.

Deana

Dear Deana,

I am a huge fan of your father and now of you also. I can only play cassette tapes in may car. Please, please tell me where I can buy cassettes of your Dad's.

Thank you so much,
Jill Thompson

Dear Jill,

I have found cassette tapes of my Dad’s recordings at many different music stores.  Or, you might find them online at Amazon or E-Bay.

Deana

Hello Deana,

Your new CD is fabulous. Your vocals are sensational and I applaud the arrangements. I can’t wait for the next one. You go girl.

Sincerely,
Marilyn Rossi
